  • I had five of the seven fruits and veggies in the last 24 hours, but I'm feeling kinda blue.

I'm thinking of hitting up a tub of soy ice cream.
  • Eat mung beans and live happily ever after? Never would have guessed...

  • People that eat chocolate seem pretty happy, at the time anyway. In general I agree that eating healthier will make or keep you happy. This probably occurs because healthy foods give the body natural energy that needs to be burned. In turn, this encourages you to exercise or at the least to get out, making you happy! Yay, fruits and stuff.

  • I had a sneaking suspicion that the "Happy Meal" wasn't going to be one of them. Ha!

Cottage cheese? Nope. Lobster? Cockroach of the sea as far as I'm concerned. Mung beans? "???" I'm down with everything else though. Especially pineapple. So... dark chocolate, coffee, turkey, asparagus, sunflower seeds, Taittinger Champagne, pineapple, tofu, spinach and bananas. :-)

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Although US companies first developed their pineapple plantations in Hawaii, and the most common varieties of pineapple were developed there, Hawaii now supplies only a very small percentage of pineapples. Due to lower production costs, most pineapples are now grown in southeast Asia, South America, and Africa.

Knowing this makes me eat them less but appreciate them more.

  • I eat all of these on the daily and I am no more happier than the person next to me. Perhaps that happy feeling one gets from consuming these foods is that of satisfaction from not stuffing their faces fast food.

  • "Happy Meal" is more like the "Sad Meal"

  • To the three quarters of the world that suffer from malnutrition, under-nutrition and straight up starvation... any meal is a "happy" meal. Word.

The true hungry population of our planet have probably never tasted half the food on that list.

  • I've never had mung beans, but I'd be willing to give it a shot. Can't say I like lobster all that much, but other sea food is totally fair game. Everything else I eat regularly, so I guess I'm doin okay....cool. Thanks for the update. :-)

  • I'd say there's a definite link between eating healthy in general and being happy. Happy body, happy mind!
    egarlow
  • Or happy mind, happy body... If you're depressed enough you'll stay that way no matter what you eat, unless you get help. It is true that some foods contain enzymes and vitamins like b12 that have a lot to do with mood stabilization. It doesn't mean that eating them is going to solve your problems.
