  • Is there ANY way we can give President Bush another bag of pretzels? And, while we're at it, let's feed Cheney butter.

Sounds like the end of a bad videogame, where the crazy fringe group launches the nuclear missiles just to spite the good guys.

  • obama supports bombing iran, remember? it's all part of the plan.

  • The attack on Iran would give Bush the opportunity to cancel the election under provisions in the patriot act.

  • First let me say, I agree that Iran can not ever be allowed to have a nuclear bomb. Many of the people of Iran seem to be great people. But the government controlling Iran is nuts. If they (the government not the people) had a nuclear bomb I have no doubt they would launch it at Israel or maybe even us.

Would bombing Iran really cause the people of this country to vote for McCain? I don't think so. I know it happened before, and maybe I'm wrong, but I think the people of this country have finally seen the crap Bush has been pulling (see the current historically low approval pols). I think if Bush tried to pull a "bomb Iran right before the election" plan the country would vote even stronger for Obama. Americans are tired of war and tired of Bush and his lies.
And if he tried to cancel and election because of bombing Iran... I think we would see a revolution.

  • wouldn't surprise me a bit...they are a "one issue" Party...all they know how to do is start wars.

  • So you really think we would see a revolution? If only. At least it would show the people of this country aren't totally brainwashed. Personally, I think they are all in this together. Obama and McCain actually sat next to each other at Tim Russert's memorial service and were chatting it up. I don't trust ANY of them at this point.

  • It's something I never thought about, at the same time though I don't think it was ever an issue. Now that it's become some a worrisome thing though it wouldn't shock me a bit to see it happen.

  • Kristol also suggested that Obama’s election would tempt Saudi Arabia and Egypt to think, “maybe we can use nuclear weapons.” where do these guys come from. seriously . lets scare the crap out of the American people to pursue our agenda nice. darn they forgot to mention china.

  • So Bush will attack Iran unless we vote for McCain, who wants to attack Iran. *sigh*

  • The height of irony is that Jon Stewart might've give Kristol the idea during an interview he did on Feb. 12th and he passed on the joke Jon was trying to make as a good idea for an "October Surprise"

  • Here's an idea. Let's keep arguing about how homosexuals are destroying America, or how abortion is an important national issue, or the validity of a 'negro' in the Big Chair, or any other of the thousand other bs reasons we have come up with to distract ourselves from the real issues. Considering the decline of America over the last 8 years, Iran is something we need to de-prioritize and work on the domestic front. But too many people continue to gorge themselves on the lies and misinformation believing Iran is an actual threat. And if this scenario actually happens, we deserve every consequence that will happen from the international community. Wake the [censored] up.

  • Is this something that cam out of Bush's mouth or is it a speculation. Either way the tought of it makes me feel like we need a revolution in our country. Bring our kids home from war.................more have died in Irag than in Vietnam. Sad day when we let history repeat itself and not put up a fight.

If you keep enough people afraid for their future, you can dictate to them what is most important, and they will fall in line out of fear.

  • Many media sources have stated that congress is scared of impeachment hearings because they think he will start another war or declare marshal law. How sickening is that?

  • Kristol is a war cheerleader and one of the signers of The Project For The New American Century. The one where they divided up the middle east oil fields on paper twenty or so years ago.
  • When will enough be enough? Where is our breaking point guys?
    ILiveonaClock
  • Well, duh. Haven't we known this for a long time now??? That's what all the warmongering has been about -- Cheney has had his timeline for the Middle East since the beginning. I remember reading in Bob Woodward's book about how on one occasion in 2003 or so, Bush was congratulating a military bigwig on his accomplishments in Iraq, and said to him, 'Want to do it again in Iran?'..... sent chills up my spine at the time.

    So this is no surprise.

  • Spin spin spin the news... Imagine that, FOX news using scare tactics to find any reason to try to influence people to not vote for Obama. Kristol is a hard line Republican supporter and is willing to say anything to try and help his candidate get elected. Why he would have more insight into Bush's mindset on this than anyone else is beyond me, The notion of this is ridiculous, it is just a scare tactic, but the ridiculous thing is it paints Bush as an insane dictator willing to bomb out of spite for a Democratic candidate... this gets my vote as absolutely absurd news item of the day

  • I hope he doesn't, diplomacy would keep a lot more people in this world alive.

  • It worked with Libya and it'll work here, in my humlbe opinion. Can the free world afford to have a lunatic like Iran's leader in power with an Abomb. If someone says they are going to kill you believe them.

  • Christ, he's like a spoiled little kid.

And by "he", I mean Bush.

If another attack occurs (especially one that we should have seen coming) and Bush postpones the elections using the patriot act, I can only hope we see a revolution. I personally think that revolution, be it a small or big one, is a healthy thing for a country every once in a while. It can help to clear out the bullshit in the system and if done correctly it can remind the government of a nation that it is the government that should fear the people, not the other way around.

By the way, when I say done correctly I am implying that a successful revolution can be either peaceful or violent.

  • Dear Americans.

YOU ARE THE ONLY ONES WITH THE POWER TO PREVENT BUSH FRM DOING THE HORRIBLE THINGS HE DOES.

HE IS YOUR PRESIDENT AND HE DOES THESE THINGS ON YOUR BEHALF.

IN ESSENCE IT IS YOU, THE PEOPLE, DOING THESE THINGS.

HE IS NOT A KING HE IS AN ELECTED OFFICIAL.

IF HE DOES BOMB IRAN THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE ACCOUNTABLE NOT JUST BUSH.

  • Another complex component of the potential Monarchy of George Bush is the plans that have been crafted since the era of the Nixon administration. The plans for continuity of government.

Bush will have his private army to control the massive backlash that a suspension of the elections would provoke. It would be bloody and violent with riots emerging in all the major cities of the country. It could even incite the apocalyptic race war that many people have been predicting.

America could fall into Civil War yet again. It isn't beyond the realm of possibilities. I for one would fight to preserve freedom, liberty and justice for all.

  • Attacking Iran because Obama IS going to win would be about the worst thing he could do - for he and his family and friends. History is full of examples of what hapens when ignorant / arrogant leaders fail to respect the real power in any country - the people.
