Primark's primeval labour force includes children

Ministers are being pressed by activists to act after the BBC uncovered the fact that child labour is used to produce clothing for Primark by large contract holders in India.
Primark's excuse is that the firms they had contracted to do the work had subcontracted smaller firms to do work for them, and it is here where children entered into Primarks workforce.
"Under no circumstances would Primark ever knowingly permit such activities" they said, but is this a good enough excuse for a company as large as Primark?
If the price is too good to be true, surely this is testament to the fact that it probably is.
