What an attack on Iran really means: Internment camps for those who are of Middle Eastern descent?

The Iranian Diaspora Population map shows that approximately 2.5 million live in the US alone, 700,000 in Canada, 300,000 in the UK, and 2 million in India. If a war breakouts between the US and Iran then what transpired with the internment of Japanese Americans and Canadians during World War II would become a distant memory and a travesty that will be repeated. Unfortunately it appears that the United States is prepared for this scenario, since it has already built 800 FEMA prison camps which are fully operational and ready to receive prisoners.

  • It's a mistake to attack. It's not necessary to attack and we don't need to fear Iran or the Muslims.

It's all a form of slavery - all over again - by little men who think they can sustain themselves at the expense of everyone else.

You know the story about the "best laid plans... "

  • This is utter insanity if this takes place. The world never learns because history is never told the the way it really was. The winners get to re-write history to suit their selfish aims.

I hope people will wake up before its too late.

  • Let us not forget that as early as Washington's presidency did they want to put people in camps. Like the French...when the French were at war with Great Britain and asking for the help of America. America feared that if they were to side with the British then they would have an uprising of untrusting French.

This is the trouble with being open to people coming into your country from all over and it's important that such people know that when they come in that they should not be stupid enough to show that they would be upset should the country they wanted to move to fights the country that they ran away from.

It is a scary reality that it would happen again if it were to happen so close to the creation of these United States.

  • america made iran what it is today, because in eisenhowers presidency we help to put a dictator into their country. they finally expelled their dictator , but they have distrusted us ever since and with good reason. which shows to go ya, if you got oil in your back yard your a military target for the good old u.s.a aint life under dictator bush grand?

  • As direct threat to the US, Iran is not; they have no Navy and no real military might to offer any kind of credible DIRECT threat.

This could, however, change if Iran is allowed to accomplish its goal of obtaining nuclear weapons; and I do believe that is Iran's true intention.

Iran does, though, pose a very credible indirect threat to the US and its allies by destablizing the middle east region.

So, the question is, attack or not attack? I believe that Iran should be attacked only if they cause direct harm to the US and/or its allies, which at this time they do not. .

As for the credibility of this particular story, claiming the existance of concentration camps maintained by FEMA: I am highly sceptical as it reaks of conspiracy theorists mumbo-jumbo; to eliminate my scepticism, as well as others, I'm sure, there needs to be some credible source of this information that can be researched.

  • Iran is 4x the size of iraq, has 2.5x the number of people and 10x the gdp of iraq. The US war in iraq costs over $200 billion per year to wage, and we expect to be able to take on Iran? Attacking iran has got to be the absolute stupidest idea I have ever heard in my life.

  • Attacking Iran would not be the US alone. I do not think this will occur as the President is almost out of the court. Anyway, a Nuclear Program from Iran is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. This remark does not mean anything, until you were the one that said "isreal should be whipped from the map" "Americans, jews, Christians, they will all obey or be killed"

Stupidity is marked by how fast you Forget. Words are not to be forgotten.

  • Why do we as a nation have to play fair with these narrowminded over religous, self rightious, desert bums. If we were smart we would let the Israulis bury them and them we would start to help with their revinue to get what little they had left back into shape. As for them being the losers if enough are eliminated then it will be a simple phsyop to convince them that they bought it upon themselfs. It would be the truth.
    Toughth
  • That's bull...if that were going to happen we would have the Iraqi's in the country locked up, and the afghans. Why would the Iranians be different?

  • It's sad to think of many anti-war protesters there are out there at this time. The (no war for any reason) people , How many bombings would it take I wonder before you would fight ( not call for the actions of others to protect you) to protect your self? your neighbor? how about a stranger? or another country?

Make no mistake when not if Iran gets nuclear weapons they will use them. So the real question is do we attack or react. As far as labeling FEMA camps "prison camps" please thats rediculous, it only makes sence to set up a system for emergency relife after katrina fema took a bashing for not being able to respond effectively 800 camps set up 8000.

  • I think if we attack Iran we would unleash the Tiger and probably Armageddon in all likelyhood:(
  • hey loneberkut, how many successful terrorists attacks on our homesoil have we had? ONE! could we have prevented it? YES! Is there any reason to believe iran isn't doing exactly what it says? NO!

Fact is, a war on Iran is merely a piece of the the neo-con's fairly odd plan to try to control the oil power of the mid-east. A just war was afghanistan, and in case you weren't aware, that nation is still falling apart and the Taliban still control large swathes of it.

IF iran attempted to make nuclear weapons and succeeded they would be used the same way India and Pakistan used them, basically as a deterrent against the other using them. I know the vast majority of conservatives out there see Iran as being backward and extremists because they see leaders like ahmadinejad, but let's face it, Bush is pretty much the exact christian equivalent of ahmadinejad with a much more powerful nation behind him. stop pandering to fear. you sound like one of those mid-west morons who think a terrorist is going to stike there population of 2000 town.

oh and petarro, yes, ahmadinejad has thrown out a lot of incendiary (and rather bizarre) rhetoric, but it's the israelis holding war games over the coast, its the israelis holding parts of foreign nations and it's the israelis that continue to commit international crimes against the palestinians and attack southern lebanon. israel may have started on the defence in it's infancy, but it is undoubtedly now the major aggressor in the region and the main source of it's instability (except for the US of course). Iran having nuclear weapons might actually be safer than Pakistan as Iran is a lot more stable than Pakistan.

  • I'm really not expecting it to happen. Unless John McCain gets elected. Then we'll probably end up in North Korea.

  • I think Mr Respected Military analyst is going a little too far.....This sounds like a sensational, catastrophic end to us all.....

Algeria, Lybia, Angola, and Nigeria.....would thrive if the the Persian Gulf is shut down.....

To say 750 million people would starve is AN EXAGERATION !!!!

I would hate for there to be another war...but I thinK he is a little over board here......

i only agree with a few of his points but the rest....well...sounds like FAUX NEWS to me..............

Dont get me wrong a war with Iran could be a grave affair....but as with the Iraq war I think the international community will thread carefully

  • When exactly did anyone tread carefully with the Iraq War? Was it when we rushed in without U.N. Approval or when we got stuck there with no exit strategy?
