GHB is fast becoming the replacement for ecstasy on the gay clubbing scene - but as its use grows so does the number of fatalities; five men died in one year in one London club alone. In this pod we meet a range of people who's lives have been affected by this increasingly popular drug.

  • I couldnt cover the whole use of GHB in the country so i decided to concentrate in one only aspect to make the movie. Club Fire was my best option as i have good access to the venue and they always help me to produce videos to create awarness. GHB is widely used in the whole gay scene in London and other cities in europe but is also used among straight people. In Brazil for example, aka "Boa Noite Cinderella - Good Night Cinderella" is known as a rape drug and it is used to target tourists.

  • the stories told here really struck a chord with me, i had my trip to hospital for picking up the wrong drink in a house party, and lost 5 hours to the drug, surrealist experience of my life, beyond the guilt and the fear that i have done alot of damage to myself, more so was the fact that no-one in the party knew whom brought it and whom was using it.

  • I don't understand? I am prescrided phramy grade GHB in a drug called Xyrem. I am prescibed two 4.5 liquid gram doses a night. How are these kids over doseing on 1.8-2.5 ML? This drug is miracle when used the right way by the people who need it. To bad this drug will only get bad press do to one sided bias coverage. Truth be told this drug has saved my life and I thank god every day for it to be availible in a medication form.I only hope that this fad dies before these idiots have my Rx taken from me due to pubic outrage.

  • Good to know that some people use GHB as proper medicine. Not only you but also other people like bodybuilders use GHB within a controled enviroment and make good use of it. As you mention, you take GHB within a medicine called Xyrem. Im sure somehow that variation of GHB comes in a way that causes good to your health. The people I refer to in my documentary, they buy "pure" GHB on line and take it on constant bases while clubbing. Every now and then we hear a history of someone that has died because of a GHB overdose. Last month, a 23 yo sounth african guy commited suicide by taking an overdose of GHB, a 19 year old english boy accidently took an overdose of GHB and died as well while i was shooting the documentary. It somehow became a sort of weapon. What we want to discuss with the documentary is not to take the drug out of the market but to make it so that it isnt so easy to purchase. Like that we can avoid its misuse for clubbing saving it for proper needs like to cure people. Thankx for your comment.
