Following the success of two weeks of the Beatles’ music on American Idol, the Fab Four’s catalog may be branching out again: Reps for the band are reportedly talking to both Activision and MTV Games about possibly releasing a Guitar Hero or Rock Band based around Beatles’ tunes.

um. i adore the beatles. I can see some beatle kids hating this...but I won't lie, I'd probably play if it came out and a friend had it.

It's about time. I don't see the evil in this at all. You're introducing the greatest band of all time to a bunch of kids who only listen to garbage like Fall Out Boy.

woo hoo! i dont even play guitar hero (because i suck) but you better believe id play if the beatles were on!!!

This is great. Add the Beach Boys then today's kids can have a chance to learn some "real" music. Most of the songs on hero suck.

As much as I like them, it's not very fun to slam chords away on a fake guitar. They would have to use the really riff heavy tracks, and there arent that many to constitute a decent game imo.

This sounds like it would be fun. I think more kids should be exposed to The Beatles and all the magic their music carries. Id rather have a bunch of kids out there humming along to Lucy in the sky than Hannah Montana.
Some tunes that would translate well:
Revolution
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Help!
Blackbird
Here comes the sun
Tax man
Ballad of John and Yoko
Just my opinion, feel free to add to the list. -
more exposure for kids to the beatles is great, pros outweigh the cons!

This is a great idea. Those that don't now a lot about them will learn a lot. My cousin is 10 and he knows all the music from Guitar Hero by heart.
This is the way to get into the kids of today's heart for music. -

I'm definatly glad that great music is heading into the ears of the public. The Beatles are easily one of the best bands ever. I mean who wouldn't want to play Daytripper or Paperback Writer? What would be kind of cool is if they incorporated keyboards into the game.

Music is always transforming.
My grandfather thought the Beatles were trash when they were out. This idea that music is such now is just a carbon copy of what he thought back then.
It actually has no relevance. -
If the Beatles getting butchered on American Idol is considered a success, I can't even imagine what would be considered a failure.

They were not butchered and they were not speaking of the singing as much of the Itunes boost the Beatles got.

Can't wait!

It's a music tragedy to see The Beatles songs suffer at the hands of poser outlets. First, the rights to their music are mishandled. Then, the music of the greatest band ever is 'lowlighted' on American Idol, countless commercials, and this wannabe video game franchise!
Guitar Hero should be rated 'AGES 4-8', then it could be used for it's only musical purpose;
A child's preface to "real" guitars!
