Musicians in post-apartheid South Africa feel they are trapped in the townships, although now fully supported by locals.
Meet the Vibrafarians, a band that embraces its township roots but is struggling to bring their music to a wider and more diverse audience. They have watched their neighbors in the Sivile Jazz Band struggle for 40 years and hope to expand their fan base beyond the small clubs of Grahamstown.

this video is great as it shows the struggle of Africans in post-apartheid South Africa through the experience of the local musicians. a great piece.

Great piece! I love those guys man... I wanna hang out and jam with em...
Wish them the best for me...
Peace -
Most of the music in this piece is by kids from Itipini, a squatter's community in South Africa. This is the kind of post-apartheid music that I like! :-)
