Lightning storms have sparked over more than 840 fires across Northern California. The unprecedented lighting storm lasted 5,000 to 6,000 strikes. WOAH!! There are so many fires that firefighters from Nevada and Oregon have been enlisted to help.
So far no homes have been destroyed.

I've just moved back to San Francisco...and the whole city smells like they're enjoying a nice fire - too bad it's in the hills and not in their fireplaces!

The smoke up here in the foothills is pretty thick, leaves a nasty taste in your mouth. I can guarantee that when California get it's independence back firefighters will probably be held in higher esteem than the defense troops.

Oh but that was the coolest storm I've ever seen, we don't get much of that here at all! The thunder shook my whole house!
