He belongs to the most traditional Jiu-Jitsu family. His uncle, Carlos Gracie, was the founder of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Today, Jean Jacques keeps inspiring people all over the world. He lives in Los Angeles, trains the LAPD, various marine seals and US soldiers who are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, and many celebrities.
His life was portrayed in the documentary "Force of the Spirit". In the director's words, the reason why he chose to work on the project is because this is "the true Rocky story".

great story. If I may add my two cents, I actually think the hand issue comes through a little too strong. It bears mentioning, but as he has lived his life without regretting it there is no need to dwell on it. overall I think the story could be shorter and tighter if you focus a bit more on his life mission and teaching now and less on the doc on him and his past. Literally what is "current" about his story and what will be current about him in the future?

very well put together piece. i thought the editing was very strong, and mixed well with the music. if you don't mind my asking, what did you use to edit?
at one point in the piece, though, i did think "wow - if it ended there, on that soundbite, that would leave me thinking about how forceful, both physically and mentally, this guy was." (that that soundbite is actually the title of your piece)

I had the privilege of training under Jean Jacques when I lived in L.A. He is everything they say he is. He is an amazing fighter, teacher and family man. He inspires everyone he meets and has the most positive attitude.
Side note* the gentleman receiving his black belt was a purple belt when I trained there and I remember him talking about when the day would come. It was particularly touching to know he achieved that goal.
