Al-Qaeda had been the most media-savvy terrorist group in the world. Sending out regular communiques, that included audio and video.
Sometimes, when you are an authoritarian administration, it's hard to stick to the times. Web 2.0 resources like YouTube and Facebook have not been particularly useful for these terror-techies. Their distribution is a fraction of what they would have hoped. Many of their most popular videos have been given satirical 'director's commentary' by critics of the terrorist network.
The free-flow of information has served to undermine many of the agendas of this organization, but the fear is that Arab nations who censor their internet, are allowing Al-Qaeda's Web 1.0 message to be heard.

This article talks about the organization's growing online offensive.
"The war against terrorism has evolved into a war of ideas and propaganda, a struggle for hearts and minds fought on television and the Internet. On those fronts, al-Qaeda's voice has grown much more powerful in recent years. Taking advantage of new technology and mistakes by its adversaries, al-Qaeda's core leadership has built an increasingly prolific propaganda operation, enabling it to communicate constantly, securely and in numerous languages with loyalists and potential recruits worldwide."
So why not just take out their communications operations? Apparently western officials missed the boat and now their internal security is "bulletproof".
In fact, US Defense Secretary Robert Gates was quoted last year as saying al-Qaeda is better at spreading it's message via the web than America is. Do you believe it? -
Well, yeah. Of course, this administration is perfectly happy to have Al Qaeda spreading their message -- it fuels the fear, which fuels the popularity of the neocon message.... it's all a part of the game, the game of war.

Al Qaeda is CIA/Mossad. Do a Google search for IntelCenter and S.I.T.E. and find out that they are small private Israeli owned companies operating under the auspices of US intelligence in Virginia. They produce the popular Al Qaeda videos with fake terrorists and sell real Muslim extremists propaganda videos through their websites to keep the manufactured Christian-Muslim war going on behalf of Israel.

Thats sounds kind of hard to believe
-
Is it? That's another one for the 9/11 conspiracy theorists. I'm surprised it hasn't come up before.

Oh someone said conspiracy theory, whew, what a relief, I thought I may have to use my brain and think about things, but no, no, I am way too smart to believe anything about conspiracy theories. Thank you gorm, I can't believe anything from those damn liberals. haha.
