A news article published online today in Canadian ITBusiness.ca
reports on the ongoing work of the U.S. National Science Foundation's
U.S. Voting System Project ACCURATE:

1) "One programmer could make a change that would affect 100,000
votes." – Page 1

2) "If these machines were rigged, we'd never know it." – Page 2

3) "Viruses could be put in the Diebold Accuvote to change votes." – Page 3

Notice that the Diebold/Premier voting system is specifically
mentioned in the article.

Are we going to have our election stolen AGAIN?!

  • So, where (in what states) are Diebold machines still used -- and WHY????? My state (Washington) has an absentee ballot option, and I'd advise everyone who can, to take it. Paper and pencil RULE!!! lol

  • The biggest problem is even the paper counting machines are made by Diebold so if you get rid of the electronic voting machines they just have to go through an extra step to falsify votes. See the link to see what a sham past paper elections have been- the box seals are like post-it notes.

  • In 2004, after an initial investigation into the company's practices, California Secretary of State Kevin Shelley issued a ban on one model of Diebold voting machines in that state. The Attorney General of California, Bill Lockyer, sued Diebold charging that it had given false information about the security and reliability of Diebold Election Systems machines that were sold to the state. To settle the case, Diebold agreed to pay $2.6 million and to implement certain reforms. On August 3, 2007, California Secretary of State Debra Bowen decertified Diebold and three other electronic voting systems after a "top-to-bottom review of the voting machines certified for use in California in March 2007." -Wikipedia

We are still using Diebold machines in California. Apparently, like the Constitution, common sense is unnecessary in the US these days.
