Right now in Australia, inflation is at a 16-year high, interest rates and fuel prices are rising, so what does the treasurer do? Goes off to look after small-legged marsupials, of course ...
Ken Henry, Australian treasury secretary will travel to an isolated spot in the north east of the country to care for over 100 'hairy nosed' wombats. Although this might seem a strange choice in mid-session, there is a serious message here: These animals are critically endangered, and besides, Mr. Henry has promised to come back fully prepared to tackle Australia's economic problems; but you can see how he'd be drawn to them!
Wombat's have had some bad press recently, but I have it on good authority that this variety is NOT the one which was accused of certain 'deeds'; come on...could you say no to those eyes? (And more importantly would he stop if you did ...?)

I know! Australia's full of odd looking (to us) animals, I mean what would you think of a Platypus if you'd never seen a picture!
