This can't be true. Only in America.

Larry Craig and David Vitter — “two United States Senators implicated in extramarital sexual activity” — have named themselves as co-sponsors of S.J. Res. 43, the Marriage Protection Amendment. If passed, the bill would amend the Constitution to declare that marriage “shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman.”

  • Ain't that the epitome of hypocrisies?

  • What they need to do is stop shoving their narrow minded view of what lifestyles we should all be living, when they can't even live up to it themselves.

  • LOL!!! Step 4 in their self-rehabilitation. And yes, the hypocrisy of it all -- abusing their own marriages, and then preventing other committed couples from having one.... [irol]

  • While we're on the subject of hypocrisy let's bring in Ben Stein and his "Larry Craig was railroaded" rant on Fox.

This could be the focus for the next four months leading up to and beyond the national election.
    Imagine the script:
Enter stage left, or rather right.. Mark Foley. Dust him off and bring him out. It's time to make this duo a troika. You remember him as chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. He also introduced a bill to guard images of underage children that were in danger of misuse.
Later that day or that year, his computer exposed the fact that he was sending suggestive e mails to underage pages of his own gender. So we need him on this Craig/Vitter committee. Ben Stein could do one whining rant where he defends all three at once. He could weave in stories about intelligent design and the real stars. Stein is great at taking unrelated subjects and picking the parts he likes to hybrid into an "objective" story. And who better than a speech writer for Dick Nixon to do the job?
He could write a speech and call it THE GREAT BIG MORAL SILENT HYPOCRITICAL MAJORITY. Private Ibber

  • Alex Jones, the conspiracy-theory, foil-hat wearing moron has who used to support Ron Paul for president now supports Chuck Baldwin for president. Baldwin is a fundamentalist Christian who wishes to make America into a theocracy. And if you look at his platform, defining marriage as between a man and woman is one of the most important things to him. Ron Paul, Alex Jones, and Baldwin are all tied into this Religious Right movement to force us to practice their religious beliefs and deny homosexuals their rights.

Do the research ON THEIR OWN WEBSITES and you'll find this information for yourself.

But I gottah say, this is a good source.
  • Aw man this is hilarious. Repugnant-cons (Republicans) are a joke.

BTW, I hear Donald Rumsfeld will be on the UN Tribunal prosecuting war crimes, too.

  • My whole take on this marriage between man and woman squabble is that it must be a great way to raise funds.

Look at it this way: The religious right runs very, very profitable mega-churches and radio and TV stations that deliver their message. Like any smart advertiser, they will deliver messages that gets results. That is, results in the form of cash donations. They would never keep pushing a message that didn't make their churches grow and get lots of money. Therefore, I can only conclude that gay-bashing is highly profitable.

The right-wing politician can promise to work for these same stupid causes simply because that is a cash cow. Get money from the religious right, the 'pastors' tell the flock that they have a 'man in congress' and the donations will flow in like manna from heaven.

What happens when the politician's fails to jam this kind of stupid legislation through congress? Simple, go back to "the flock" and ask for more money because America is a Godless place that needs more morals. This is a vicious cycle.

    It's the Money, Stupid.

  • This is very similar to

    Governor Paterson
    Governor Sptizer
    The Mayor of Sanfranciso
The Mayor of Los Angeles promoting and championing marriage

You should include them in your list.

    Hypocrisy is not just republican.

  • I like how the wives are trotted out to share in the disgrace. Some great comments from everyone here! I'm glad some of you caught the humor in this and got a good laugh. I sure as hell did.

  • Dont you think that hijacking the constitution of your own state by suing and suing until you find activist judges who can override the will of the people who voted on it is not attacking freedom ? Really.

You accusation of Bush 41 did not fly far even with a press that whould be so eager to use it.
