"Our task is tough, and our time is limited. Party organizations and governments at all levels must give priority to emission reduction ... and drive the idea deep into people's hearts."
This is President Hu Jintao speaking. What are we hearing from OUR president?

I'm hesitant to believe that China will actually do something, but if they do take action it will be a major first step.
-
I never understand people against globalization. Together we can fight problems and actually win.
-
Are they just doing this in preparation for the Olympics?
-
Good for them.

you'll never hear such profundity from Bush. Man barely speaks english, much less eloquently, and forget about content.
-
Did they speak slowly enough for Bush to comprehend any of it?

Great news.
Any progress is desirable no matter the motivation.
The country has huge potential for exponential growth in carbon emission rates We all need to do everything we can...even if it is just a first step.
These people who I keep Googling, mostly on Google News, who keep putting Al Gore down for having high energy bills should be ashamed of themselves..
I can see some in my circle falling for that BS hook line and sinker. Wonder where that money trail leads.
I put in the link to Google News..it always seems rigged to me. Here's the link to Google News results for Al Gore:-

China needs to start from within first before calling on other countries to help with the situation.Be a role model to other nations by cleaning up your country first.
-
china knows that at this point, their excuse of economic boom and industrial revolution isn't valid anymore. we AREN'T limited to earth-scarring technology and it is about time that they cleaned up their industry. also, this step towards environmentalism may be a precursor and parallel argument to china's improved human rights! Exciting!

China has planted many more trees than any other countries.
When China was living a simple life with a bicycle and enough food on the table. There wasn't any calls that China was doing a big green favour for the rest of the western world.
