Mrs McCain defaults on tax payments for 4 years

Cindy McCain, wife of presidentail candidate John McCain has been defaulting on property-tax payments sent to a house in La Jolla, California for 4 years. The house is owned by a trust over-seen by Mrs McCain as part of her estimated $100 million fortune. After the matter was raised Mrs McCain payed the amount of $6,744.42 yet San Diego County official say there is still another $1,742 owed on the property for this year.

  • I don't know, perhaps going after Cindy McCain isn't the best strategy. She's not running for anything and what relevance does her financial dealing have on the grand scheme of things? In addition it will be harder to defend Michelle Obama if we all attack Cindy McCain for every little fault she has.

  • i think the media has been easy on Cindy...so to think Cindy and Michelle are equal playing fields is way off!
    if anything they should be harder on Mrs Cindy...if it was the other way around...it would be everywhere...headlines would say " Michelle OBama is not paying her taxes..did OBama cover for her??" i can just see it...

  • As a business woman you would think that she would know that property tax was due every year? So, not paying it in four years should have popped up on the radar. But I guess I can understand, owning so many houses must be hard to keep track of the minor details. ;-)

  • The next time McCain complains about Obama not accepting public financing, keep in mind how much Senator McCain's (current) wife can bankroll that whole campaign.

    Especially if she's not giving dollars to the IRS
