Tyson Gay, an American sprinter, ran the fastest 100 meter sprint ever in qualifying for the Olympics, clocking in at 9.68 seconds to finish. However, it turns out that Gay could've gotten an 'extra boost' from strong tailwind. Because of this, the record will not be entered in the books.
