For the last 200 years, Norway has endured ridicule and derision from its northern European neighbors, receiving treatment similar to the Polish in America, or the Belgians in France. Tired of being on the butt end of Scandinavian contumely, Norway launched a news program “Nyheter” (translation: "News") to offer audiences a uniquely Norwegian take on current events. Unfortunately, the results only reinforce negative stereotypes.
