Every office building should have decent bike storage and a place to change and shower, it should be in the building codes like washrooms. Unfortunately they don't; that is where urban bike stations come in... ideally, not-for-profit organizations offering secure bicycle parking and related services to make urban cycling an increasingly attractive option.
Providing safe storage, repairs, showers, coffee and a bite to eat, wifi, dry cleaning and laundry while you are at work not only makes cycling to the job easier, but it also builds a community.

this is pretty awesome. i agree more cities should have bikestations

More cities need bike stations. So many bikes left on public unattended bike racks get vandalized.

they are indeed make a huge difference, friendly, and if businesses are savvy, will bring a wider market into their place (for instance a super small pizza joint used to let me bring in my ride in, feelin guilty that the nearest street rack was 1+ blocks away)

we got this one amazing deal at caltrains (I dont ride it but many do, think SF-Silicon Valley)
No membership fee, no daily fee
- Warm Planet Bikes @CALtrain (3rd&townsend)
(Your purchases support the parking. Buy lots of things.) -
Being that my everyday/everywhere bike cost more than most peoples car, it's good to know if I had a need to store my bike in a city environment for an extended period that there is something like this available.
I don't see this as an everyday option for myself. I have a reserved spot at work for my bike.
If I have a need to shop retail, I bring my bike in with me. If they don't allow me to do so, I don't shop there.
Great for those spur of the moment situations..
Ride on! -
Great idea!!

Brilliant idea, we need more like it.

I approve of this. Too bad I don't know how to ride a bike.

This is a fantastic idea. This will get people to want to ride bikes. I don't want to ride one because there really is nowhere safe to store it. This works.

This is a great idea! :)

Reduce our dependence on petroleum, create jobs, healthier people, less traffic and stimulate the economy?
Sounds good to me!-

I'm really lucky, my work provides all of this already, showers, secure storage, loans to pay for bikes. As a result well over a hundred people cycle daily. The bikes take up more room in the garage than the cars.
I think it takes time to ride daily and I was certainly nervous around traffic. I'd encourage anyone wishing to cycle to look into the next Critical Mass event in your area. It will give you chance to ride with a group and make lots of new friends. -
This is a great idea. I hope to see the company expand.

What a great idea hope this catches on in more cities.
