Woman dies ignored on hospital waiting room floor

Video from a surveillance camera at a Brooklyn, New York, hospital shows a woman dying on the floor of a psychiatric emergency room while people nearby ignore her.

She lies facedown on the floor, then thrashes before going still. About an hour passed before someone realized what was happening and tried to help.

The video was released Monday by lawyers suing Kings County Hospital.

  • I fucking hate this world. How can anyone be so apathetic? Our hospitals are so pathetic it makes me sick. So let us all continue to live obliviously and apathetically right through the demise of western civilization.

  • You know whats the problem...Nurses, overworked! doctors, overworked! There is such a demand for help and so many issues surrounding the medical field that something needs to happen.I feel like we as a whole should not overlook situations as they happen.If someone had reached out to her for 1min. maybe she would have been with us today.what happened to the morality of the onlookers?

    We always just want to trust that someone else in authority will take care of things instead of following our hearts and behaving with compassion towards each other.

    Well the time has come to find that common ground we share and to remember how to reach out to each other.
