Who says the Royal Family is not progressive? Clarence House, Prince Charles' office, reports that the Royal's Aston Martin has successfully been converted and now runs on biofuel made from surplus wine. Prince Charles has also converted other cars, which are now running on biodiesel fuel made from used cooking oil. As a result, Prince Charles, who has always had a keen interest in environmental issues, and his household were able to reduce their carbon footprint by 18 percent last year.

I always said Prince Charlie is the man - good on him for thinking about the planet! I can't wait til he's king...just imagine that face on our stamps!
-
I think this is more of a symbolic gesture (how often and how far does Charles actually drive in the Aston Martin?), but it is still a step in the right direction and I give him credit for investing money, time and energy in innovative technologies.

Yeah, it reads a little bit like palace propaganda, but who cares, way to go, Charles!
-
...only the royal family would have surplus wine...
-
His PR stunts sure have backfired, all with the exception of this one..
