On the July 2 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends, co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade labeled New York Times reporter Jacques Steinberg and editor Steven Reddicliffe "attack dogs," claiming that Steinberg's June 28 article on the "ominous trend" in Fox News' ratings was a "hit piece." During the segment, however, Fox News featured photos of Steinberg and Reddicliffe that appeared to have been digitally altered -- the journalists' teeth had been yellowed, their facial features exaggerated, and portions of Reddicliffe's hair moved further back on his head. Fox News gave no indication that the photos had been altered.
After putting up the photos of Steinberg and Reddicliffe, Fox & Friends also featured a photograph of Steinberg's face superimposed over that of a poodle, while Reddicliffe's face was superimposed over that of the man holding the poodle's leash.

FauxNews has a long list of problems. I saw them reporting on the election with stock footage of terrorist training camps on the split screen - you know, the one where the scarf-faced people do the running through the tires thing. What one had anything to do with the other in context, I don't know...
They also have an excessive amount of sex stories to fill time between Obama-bashing sessions. Someone should sue for false advertising every time they use "Fair and Balanced." -
wow i wonder how many of these there actually are. i'm sure this isn't the first time.

Hillary did the same to Barack
-
this is messed up. sad thing is people must watch Fox News or they'd be off the air by now
-
Oh dear god...they really need to be taken completely off of the air.

This is far more than disrespectful. Fox should be sued beyond comprehension for this, and Murdoch should be forced to make an on air apology. Unbelievable.
-
Since these are both obvious Photoshop jobs, I say this is fair game, like pasting a silly hat or prison garb on someone. Fox & Friends is a pretty laid back show and goofs around a lot, nobody really considers it "news."
-
Hey chique please tell me that you dont watch FOX NEWS.
-
Wow, so they know how to use Photoshop. They showed them! And CNN and other respected news networks whoop their ass in ratings. Good job, Fox.

Ha. Amusing.

What I find funny is that the actual article Jacques Steinberg wrote wasn't really bad at all. It just talked about how Fox News is having trouble, and why it's recent statements that have angered a lot of people are the cause.

If they are going to spend time making those guys unattractive, you would think their time would be better spent making McCain a little younger and not so unattractive? Thank Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton for f%&king up the news. No one else but them to blame.

What the hell is wrong with Fox News???

This is not a news station, it is a combination of tabloid news and a Jerry Springeresque carnival barkers masquerading as legitimate newsmen.
Fox news is out of control... period. -
This is what happens when right-wing slush funds keep you afloat. With no need to worry about ratings, you can insult everyones intelligence and there is no cost.
-
Why is this important? Who cares? Who in the hell is Steinberg and Reddicliffe anyway?
Blah Blah Blah, that's all I hear.-

that is absolutely retarded,
they photoshop people's pictures to make them look uglier, then they call themselves a news station. -
it's not just Fox News that alters photos. back in the day the Times got in trouble for the OJ Simpson they ran in which his features were altered to make him look meaner and his skin was darkened. sadly this stuff happens a lot, rarely caught.
all TV news is complete BS. CNN is not really any better, its just more liberal so they are fewer people who try to fault it. (Yes, it really does lean left. There have been a multitude of studies regarding it.)-

Let me first say I think Fox News is garbage. No one in their right mind watches that channel for anything but entertainment, and a large percentage of the viewership FOR Fox news are it's competitors for material to use in programs to attack it.
But to keep things truly fair and balanced, is this any more juvenile than MSNBC's Countdown with 'Puppet Theater'?
These tactics are silly and at best provide more fodder for the masses of people who use their time to rail against Fox news.
The best way to get them off of the air? Stop watching them. Ignore them completely. Without ratings they are forced to alter their programming to keep their Brinks and Cialis ad funds coming in.-

This is something I would expect from Comedy Central, not Fox News, it is discusting that a real news oranization would do such a thing.
How low can they go? -
oh weird, fox news did this? this has racist undertone stink all over it too...

the worst part is, though, that there are some seemingly sensible people who actually watch fox for there news.
i remember hearing my friends mom say "you know what there slogan is? 'Fair and Balanced.'" that made me die a little inside.
but then again, she also does all of her youngest son's homework for him.-

this is dumb
-
fox "news" never ceases to amaze me with how far they stray away from the guidelines of responsible journalism. or, rather, journalism period.
-
I hope the so called "terrorists" attack and blow up Fox news! Hopefully the simpsons will have moved to a different channel by then!
-
those aren't even good photoshop jobs.
better shit on somethingawful.com's photoshop phriday.

Fox news is our generation's video version of "Star" or other tabloid mags. Fox news makes no claim to be a genuine honest news source. Those who care and want integrity in their reporting avoid it. Those who watch soaps and daytime talkshows and feed off of drama to balance their empty lives and love the us vs them mentality. Rupert does not try to justify it. It is what it is and it every person's choice where to get the info. I mean Bill O Reilly is ex paparazzi. Want to dumb down politics let a paparazzo discuss it. They are insidious manipulators who make a living on the discards of the famous. They create reaction not response. It's high time people say "I refuse to respond to that because it is just crap" and " anyone with half a brain should see it". Politicians need to stop beleiving that these people have any sort of real power. Just cause they answer polls does not mean they are a movement. I think liberals have given much too much power to Fox by trying to challenge the crap they produce. It validates their poo. If dems or liberal reps. dismissed it and refused to appear it would make a stronger statement than going toe to toe. If we can learn anything from the Bush admin it's find a story and stick with it. Ignore ignorance.

Rupert Murdoch! this is the guy you controls the media! he controls fox and i might say he runs a TAX free empire! having one person in control of a large media conglomerate might infringe freedom of the press!

This reminds me of something children would do, not journalists. They tried to make these guys look ridiculous but in doing so, they showed a total lack of professionalism. I can understand a joke, but to change the photos and not say anything means it was done to intentionally humiliate these guys. Putting their faces on dogs? Seriously... Not to mention the comments they made about one of the men that used to work for fox. A news source that takes criticism like a 10 year old isn't worth watching. Actually I think even a 10 year old could take criticism a little better. I could go on about how this irritated me but I won't. I'm going to school for journalism and for a while I was disheartened by what I was seeing and considered changing career choices. Current came along and changed that for me. Thank god for that because if this is the type of thing I had to look forward to, from a "number one news channel..." I would have given up a long time ago.
-
typical Faux News...When I initially saw the story I knew something off....I'm glad somebody put it out on the airwaves. Someone has got to stop all this madness... Is there such a thing as journalistic integrity @ Faux News ....Goodness If a Rep. is not in the W.H this will become more and more common.

Amazing that anything to do with FOX either gets voted up or makes it to tv here while real exposes' get kicked to the 75,000s. Perhaps if the people who complain about it so much didn't give it so much attention it would slink away. This isn't important news in the scheme of the world. But I suppose it is easier to discuss.

That is some comically bad Photoshoppin'.

Another fine example of when Sensationalism isn't.
*fist bump* -
why are they even allowed to call it news? if i sold a product advertised as chicken, but it turned out to be pork, i'm sure an AIPEC would have my business shut down in no time if i didn't make some changes to the misleading menu. i pose the question, could fox news technically be against the law?
