Nas in the news again? This time, the Queens rapper is calling out multiple media entities and figures in his recently leaked single, "Sly Fox."
-
Current is getting no better than fox news or any other corrupt media by slanting nas point or message in his song sly fox. You guys suck by trying to make it seem like he was doing it for a P.R stunt. Didn't fox news drag his name through the mud? Isn't he an artist that can make a song about what his feelings are toward any institution, or media outlet..so either its a P.R stunt or something else what else are your corrupt masters telling you to say. we all know current is owned by the same masters of the owned U.S and corrupt media. all you guys suck, R.I.P george carlin, leave Nasir jones alone you puppets..

To answer the question of whether this is Nas trying some publicity stunt or if this is his honest opinion: I believe its both, Nas himself has said so.
A song like, "Sly Fox," is nothing new for Nas.He is one of the most honest guys in hip-hop's history (in terms of his lyrical content). His material has consistently been a balancing act between the good and evil of human nature.-

I don't think it's a PR stunt. Nas isn't one to hold his tongue, and I don't think he needs to. He has an audience that will listen to him and he uses that to his advantage.
-
Nas is pleading, begging for attention. Any controversial statement he will make for the sake of album sales. And big whoop, Bill O'Reilly's a bigot who harps on Hip Hop and other culturally significant forces in the world. Who knew?
-
Nas is stone cold. I don't see how critiquing Fox News is any different from the conscience hip-hop on his past albums. I was surprised to see O'Reilly, a man who has built a career on hate and fear-mongering, criticize Nas for trading in violence. Did I miss something?

Nas or any American has he right and the responsibility to call out the news and media feed us this shaped and processed bologna-eske news. News might I add, that has split this countries foundation. This country's media has always made negative staements about the political propaganda in other places, yet uses it's own media to hide it's own attrocities, and in essence, pour sugar on it's stories to be more liked and sway the public's opinion on many important issues. If you or he does not, you are denying what it means to be for and by the people.

"makes a nigga wanna invest in PBS" :)
when they say "viewers like you", they'll be referring to me AND nas -
I think Bill and Nas should step out and settle things Flatbush style.
-
his new album is called "nigger"
but nas is ill, and so is the track.
FUCK BILL O' REILLY & FOX NEWS! -
O'Reilly aims at making himself the reporter, publicist, the prosecutor, the jury, and the Judge, and thats what his shown has been standing on for years. Not once can i recall him using references with legit sources. He's done everything from calling liberals terrorist sympathizers to screaming at a kid whose dad died on 9/11. He gets his conservative point across, and cuts his guests short on a basis of "time management". I hope Nas tries to go on his show and set him straight face to face with a 30 second freestyle to keep it short n simple.

I'm not sure if calling out Fox News would is a good publicity stunt (if it is). How many records is he going to sell like that? I don't think it is.
It's better than some of the other rappers out there though.
I take you to that candy shop!-

The guy that did DailyFix does not know Nas or history of his Album sales or anything like that or he would not have said that it might be a PR stunt, c-mon dude, Nas does not need anything like this to help him sell, he just knows that Billy is a bully and uses his air time to attack anyone he wants and not a lot of people say anything back, So all Nas did was stud up and said the truth, he said what a lot of people want to say.
Billy needs to save his soul. -
I know that Bill O'Reilly. got upset because Nas was going to do a show for VT, he said that Nas had violence in his CDs & I think they ended up droping Nases performance, all because Billy got on TV and bashed Nas.
Well thats kind of f-up because Bill O'Reilly. is a guy that believes that this war thats going on now is justified and that we shoud still be fighting it.
It has caused millions of Iraqis to lose their homes and their lives, plus lets not forget over 4000 American lives that have been lost just over there, not counting ones that come back and commit suicide and the ones that are missing their leg or arm or both. -
You get on TV and get at me, so ama get on the CD and get at you - Cham aka Koopa

Any negative mention in a majorly public domain about "Bill" will get an attack response... Free publicity if you want it on Fox!
-
To me it's just freedom of speech being practiced.
Say what you feel Nas! All the other rappers in your tax bracket aren't man enough to say truth!
Besides, anyone who believes so much as a cough from O'reilly is a mindless drone to media! I hope a terrorist blows up FOX with him in it! Oh yeah, the government funds FOX so they wont send a CIA tactitian to blow up a government building. Right?
F.O.X = Fully Operational Xenophobia -
Good god Current TV stand up for yourself and stop trying to be so impartial to issues like this. Do you really need to ask if Nas was being sincere or pulling a publicity stunt? Or is Current TV poising inane questions just so it can profit from this feud?
You guys are just legitimizing the argument of Bill O`Reily by affording him an equal footing with Nas. If you guys can’t place Rupert Murdock, Bill O’Reily and Fox news in its proper position then you might as well axe your news department. Or better yet, you should empower those who would speak out and tell the truth instead of posing ridiculous nonsense that serves no one but yourself. -
Nas is right on target with his latest LP installment. On the creative side it definitely will strike nerves. But I hope it goes further. Nas moves far beyond urban, gangsta, and real; he has approached the ultimate level known as imposeum.
Oh yeah, O'reily is a silly wanker. People that buy into him are dumb anyway. -
awesome!!!!
NAS is telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth!!!

Nas is superb..!!! ...and not afraid to put pathetic people like O'reilly in his perverbial place...the gutter, where his mind seems to thrive...he's no more than an overpaid right-wing tool...
So, booboo, what your saying is that the illegal occupation in Iraq, with all of it's killing of the innocents, is much better than free speech from Nas and the people on current because they don't fit into your or O'Reilly's convoluted sense of things... BOY, you are lost...right along with the misguided Bill O...-

This is not a PR stunt. Nas's singles were leaked. When asked if he cared he said "no", b/c he doesnt care about getting money off this albumn, its about getting a message out. Love your music Nas, keep it up. Stop bad mouthing MC's.-

THE TRUTH FOR HATE BLACK'S
search tht shit on UTUBE..
it's make it a ll clear -
i find it interesting that this is dared to be called a publicity stunt to weaken his message somehow...I heard the lyrics seems on point to me..what i dont get is how O'reily could make an argument about him performing at a benefit concert..you have got to be kidding me...and the corps that pull artists contracts b/c he whines about them actually work!!..who the hell made him God?? no one has jumped this man yet lol! if you ask me he is a dangerous man!
-
Hmm... does anyone remember when it was rock bands who made politically charged songs? There is not nearly enough outrage in popular music today, and when there is, it is usually vague enough to remain uncontroversial... Good for Nas, good for free speech, and its about f-ing time that a popular rock act took an explicit political stand about something or someone... Sadly, O'Reilly, FOX and his kind would have alot harder time dismissing this talk if it came from a non minority musician.

Rap is poisoning you brains!

The news as we know it today is a joke, just like our whole American Administration. The new Nas album is great so far my album of the year, he seems to bring up all the topics that are on my own mind, fake war, back room oil deals, news that is not unbiased, global warming, and America is not all its cracked up to be. Bill O'reilly is just a talking head who cares what he thinks, do your own research and come up with an opinion of your own. Nas album of the year (so far) go get it i might buy two and i havent bought a cd since 2002.

booboo balinsky, you've been sucking on too much right-wing rhetoric titty for far too long. That of which you speak is all brainwashed B.S. straight from the spin machine's right-wing tutulage...you're one of the blind sheep that they're leading right over the cliff...they love you, because, to them, you are a true patriot, one who gullibly swallows all the disinformation, asks no questions, and would never think of thinking for yourself...one who goes so far as to actually become an unpaid right-wing tool yourself... better known in certain circles as a troll...
When will you see the light..? Maybe you should do a little research on why they've covered up so much evidence from the 911 disaster...wake up...-

I think if Nas was talking about cars, women, money, drugs or any other destructive thing then the powers that be would be happy. For those of you who do not know, Nas is one of the greatest lyricist in hip hop...he is a very poetic and intellectual man.
What they need to talk about is Soulja boy, Lil Wayne and other people like that who are far more destructive then the conscious artist. Are we living in a world where freedom of thought is becoming illegal? -
boobooo_36,564
Is that the number of times that you SHIT on yourself everyday ?
Nas has never been about hype. The entire hip hop community neeed to follow Nas's lead the same way Rock and Soul artist did in the 60's and the 70's. Nothing has more power than music. That's why "they" make us sing the National Anthem, even though they've never even heard "Lift every voice and sing".
____________NAS IS THE TRUTH.______________.-

God bless Nas for speaking the truth!
-
If political commentary and media criticisms are what sell, the top 40 charts don't reflect that. Someone makes a record that doesn't talk about materialism, misogeny, or mindless violence, and its a stunt? "Cause thats what sells!!!" Can we get a dis record about going to the gold standard?

Whatever you think of either man's message, we've seen over and over again that Bill O'Reily lies, trying to report fiction as reality, while Nas tells the truth, even if it's just the truth as he sees it.
They both make their living as public figures; almost everything they say or do is a publicity stunt. The song is no different. The difference lies in how each tries to present himself. O'Reily knows the slander he spouts is bs, force-fed to him by his corporate masters. Nas looks around the world, for himself, and speaks from his heart.
As a general rule, I don't listen to hip-hop, but not out of fear or disgust, it's just not my kinda music. But, Nas' lyrics burn like a brand - an intelligent, poignant one - and one the Fox News corporation could only aspire to, as it blindly eviscerates any conception of truth with slogans like "fair and balanced."
Tight song, Nas, with an important message. Too bad it probably won't be changing the minds of anyone who already disagrees with you =\ -
While the message is solid, this is just even more ratings for Bill O'Reilly.
Here's a thought...
Let's ignore Fox, and O'Reilly. Don't give them more ammo to spin for ratings.
Most people know Fox is full of crap, but people STILL continue to watch and pay them the attention they feed off of.
Boycott them. Don't give them anything.-

EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP AND THINK
Who gives a sh*t if this is a PR stunt? I was taken aback by how many people commented on this pod. There's no controversy here; Nas is speaking his mind, just as is Bill. What's the big deal?
And to the paranoid: If we were devoid of free speech, how would a site like this exist? (I doubt we'd even be hearing about this song) -
Let it be a publicity stunt... more people will hear it that way. Get them thinking. Maybe they will turn o
