This Massachusetts mom withholds cancer meds from Jeremy Fraser, her 8-year-old autistic son, after a good prognosis. Now the cancer has returned and there's nothing they can do, his likelihood to overcome dropping from 85-90% to 10%. What drives these parents to do such things, when "in all likelihood, Jeremy Fraser will not see his ninth birthday?"

This is so sad, but I can't seem to find the mother's "reasoning" anywhere. I remember a few cases of parents praying for a cure to their child's illness rather than seeking out medical treatment. I'm not saying they're justified, I just find it odd that this woman is not trying to defend herself in anyway - or maybe I'm completely missing it? Anyway, very tragic, my heart goes out to that poor boy.

What a selfish woman, she should live without medicine and not punish her son for her ignorance. Poor kid, if only she could suffer more for this. Torturing an autistic child is hardly an act of love.

That's terrible. It says she canceled more than a dozen chemo appointments! How irresponsible. The poor child had such a high estimated rate of survival too.
