I regard Hunter Scott Thompson, first of all, as an amazing journalist: even in his most outrageous and irriverent pages, when he reports faithfully the raving and delirous moments of drug consumption, you can always recognize the unmistakeble lucid and clear and straightforward style of the journalist, rich in description and plain in its analytical atomising. That's what makes of him a great writer. Besides, of course, a direct involvement in the stories he tells and the experiencing on his own skin, from inside, the parabola of a cultural movement. Which is what makes of him an artist, instead.
