** Photo used for post is an actual photo used in an article in 'Popular Mechanics', which was published just after cannabis/hemp was made illegal.** Once it was made illegal, they removed it from educational material and stopped the discussion. Could it also help save the environment? Yes it can!
We need to talk about cannabis/hemp with facts, not spin! We are in the middle of a ‘War on Americans, on American soil’. Cannabis/hemp is included in the ‘War on Drugs’. It doesn’t make sense, when a plant that could be readily available is distorted into an evil weed. Why? If a plant could benefit in so many ways, why can’t we talk? I’ll tell you why, we are at war with ourselves. Distorted facts are being used, instead of readily available documented facts. Why? It benefits Corporate America to keep cannabis/hemp labeled evil weed. It competes with so many man made products, they are afraid if facts about a plant, complements of ‘Mother Nature’, people may ask the real question. Why? They don’t have real facts to back up their spin. All we need is the conversation, the facts would speak for themselves.
Jack Herer, I know you post here, come on and join the dialog. I would like to see the discussion heard around the world. Most other countries already realize the war on cannabis/hemp is wrong. Many choose to go along to get along, because we help them out financially. Help me get the conversation going. Why don’t they want us to talk. Why do they lie?
There is a challenge in the book, ‘The Emperor Wears No Clothes’ in which they include the challenge:
$100,000 Challenge to Prove Us Wrong!
If all fossil fuels and their derivatives, as well as trees for paper and construction, were banned in order to save the planet, reverse the Greenhouse Effect and stop deforestation;
then there is only one known annually renewable natural resource that is capable of providing the overall majority of the world's paper and textiles; meet all of the world's transportation, industrial and home energy needs, while simultaneously reducing pollution, rebuilding the soil and cleaning the atmosphere all at the same time...
and that substance is the same one that has done it before . . .
Let’s talk about it. Today there is a discussion about higher gas prices to save the environment. I was upset by the conversation, higher gas prices will hurt me personally and will take much suffering to make the necessary changes. If we are going to talk about higher fuel prices to save the planet, let's talk about the plant that can save the planet.
I want a conversation about a plant that could change things today. Cannabis/Hemp could be grown in American. Hemp could replace many synthetic, possibly toxic products now sold in America. Cannabis could be used in treating many medical conditions. Cannabis does not cause the same side effects as the current drugs on the market today. If we can’t talk, please explain why we shouldn’t talk?

The cotton industry, petrol, alcohol, and paper companies might take a big hit in profits.

GREED. Thats all, hemp is too easy produce. It would be impossible for "them" to control the supply. You can't monopolize a plant that grows like, well, like a weed. We'd have to start calling it something else, like... the universally useful plant. We are so stupid for letting them do this to us for so long.

it is also a cancer cure.
-
Lets just legalize it.

I think the discussion and facts are as important as legalization. The facts about hemp should not be ignored. It could be a 'home grown' natural industrial product, capable of replacing many synthetic products.
With the talent available in the United States and the research already available, we could change the decline of industry in America, without hurting the environment.
Problem is, the ones who want cannabis/hemp to remain illegal with start 'swiftboating' the plant. Yellow journalism will run rampant if the discussion starts. Every time a discussion starts about cannabis/hemp, stories start appearing which adds fear of children and marijuana. Cannabis/Hemp is so much more important than, 'children' will use it. We may need to discuss parenting and the need for parents to take responsiblity.
Many 'middle aged' alcoholics are alcoholics because cannabis is illegal. How many would smoke cannabis instead? Families are ruined by alcohol. Many take prescription drugs with bad side effects, because cannabis is illegal. -

We can't debate the myriad of hemp usages without someone bringing up getting high.
See? I just did.
Proof positive. -
Legalize it and all drugs. Henery Ford was well along on the developement of HEMP and knew it's value and it's capabilities until the Government and BiG business fought to make it illegal to put an end to his developing the [otential of HEMP. The reason Henry Ford hated Big Business and Politcians

hemp will save the world!! why don`t people understand this. It grows fast and can by used for so many different things. everyone can just grow it themselves. It will bring us all to World Peace!

This clip from the old "Outer Limits" show sums up my attitude regarding our insane laws against hemp/cannabis.

What scares the heck out of me is, Blackwater recently bid for a contract for their services (troops) be used in the 'War on Drugs'. They would not be bidding, unless a contract is open for a private army to be used on American soil against Americans.
If we don't talk fast, it will be too late. Once they start using mercenaries, no one will be talking. They control the spin. All they have to do is use mainstream media as a vehicle to spread distorted facts and form public opinion in their favor.
Industrial hemp has been used for thousands of years. Why would they remove facts from educational material? When I was in school, hemp was described as 'other'. They didn't even print the word hemp. Why? It wasn't until I saw Jack Herer on a local program over 17 years ago that I realized they were distorting the truth about cannabis/hemp. Cannabis/Hemp competes for products made by corporate America. They can’t patent hemp.
Hemp could be a new (old) crop for farmers. The many other products, which can be make from hemp could generate jobs in America, with American grown hemp. We need to state the facts while we can. I would like to hear what the Presidential candidates have to say about cannabis/hemp. They should not hide behind the term ‘War on Drugs’ to avoid the issue. They will be leading the war, if they become President. We need to know where they stand. A war in America, on American soil, utilizing so many tax dollars, should be an issue. -
The only problem facing us, is that America is still in the ''Reefer Madness'' ''weed makes people crazy'' days. And plus people think if you even mention the ways cannabis can benefit us, they label you a pothead.

It's already used for food. Hemp seeds kick ass.
-
hemp can make plastics, see ford's car.
hemp can be turn into biodiesel; used for all trnasport and construction vehicles.
hemp can make clothes and paper.
hemp can potentially be used to save someone from cancer.
hemp cleans the air as it grows, and grows quickly it does.
hemp is the wonderplant that would dethrone soy in this country. -
Very cool....keep em coming!
Along with cannibis and hemp, we could save the planet and change the world if we stopped eating animals and developed a vegan lifestyle....
