The Colombian government has released some very compelling video of the rescue of Ingrid Betancourt and 14 other hostages from the FARC rebels.

Colombian BBC News viewers believe that the release of Ingrid Betancourt could result in some form of negotiation between the Colombian government and the FARC rebels.

This is very hopeful news. I'm sure that the hostages' loved ones are very relieved, but I wonder what FARC will try next. Clearly morality, respect for human kind and a desire to create a better and more peaceful world are not at the top of their agenda.
