History of the White Earth Nation -
"All Indian tribes have names for themselves. The largest Indian group in Minnesota calls itself Anishinaabe, which means "the original people." Europeans named them Ojibwe. No one is exactly sure how this name developed. Perhaps it came from the Anishinaabe word "ojib," which describes the puckered moccasins worn by the people. Some Europeans had trouble saying Ojibwe, pronouncing it instead as Chippewa. But both these names refer to the same people. In Canada, the Anishinaabe call themselves Ojibwe. In the United States, many tribal members prefer the name Chippewa. So that is the name we will use in this history of White Earth Reservation...."

INTERESTING
Now that white are close to becoming a minority, they are going to apply for victimhood.
This is going to be an interesting century. Of course the white will claim after 40 years of quota, they have been damaged as a group. The main debate will be who has it worse.
We all will become like begger, who break their legs to get more alms. In the end, everyone will agree that life's tough, and then you die. Until that happens, victimhood will be the philosophy of the land. -
White Earth Tribal Chair Erma Vizenor is an eloquent advocate for tribal sovereignty and replacing destructive fossil fuel energy with sustainable energy production. Vizenor is much respected in White Earth and the State of Minnesota, and is a proven three term leader who serves her White Earth Nation with vision and intelligence.
There is nothing about "victimhood" in White Earth Tribal Chair Erma Vizenor's articulate speech, nor in her effective leadership of the White Earth Nation.
The negative post above comes from someone who clearly did not listen to White Earth Tribal Chair Erma Vizenor's inspiring speech about sovereignty, empowerment and self-sufficiency. -
White Earth Tribal Chair Erma Vizenor ended her State of the White Earth Nation address with these words,
"Chi Migwetch. We are a great Nation, guided by God, guided by the spirits of our ancestors, and guided by our mission to preserve, protect and enhance our guality of life, now, and in the future.
Always remember, always remember that no one can do more for White Earth Nation than ourselves."
