Bush set to convert forests to houses

it's sad but the public didn't own this land - according to the law, nothing wrong happened. but clearly something wrong happened..

Is it better for this land to go undeveloped, and burn (creating an environment disaster), then to house people.

Forest fires are an environment disaster, the Green Nazi's refuse to acknowledge.

Now with the grace of GOD through global warming, the tundra is going to become forest replacing the forest being used in this project. Bush is doing a good thing.

GOD through his infinate wisdom, has seen fit to creat more warm climate in the northern hemisphere to accommodate the world's increasing population.

Of course, New York might turn into another Venice with gondolas instead of cabs. New Yorkers will adjust. Think of the romance of the gondolas. It will be interesting.

Bush is concerned about the environmental disaster caused by forest fires, while housing the people. I consider this noble.

That's funny. With tens of thousands of empty forclosed houses, perhaps stupido might suggest that we reconstitute the forests from unused homes.

Don't we already have more houses than our people can afford. I'm guessing the lumber from the last of our forests will be sold to China and another of stupido's friends will make millions from that which use to belong to The People, untill the sheeple allowed the supreme court to install stupido, and all his rich friends were given the wealth of our great nation to plunder.

With all the housing already available and vacant...why doesnt bush seek a way to fix up abandoned buildings or areas that need attention.Throughout the states there are many places where buildings, and neighborhoods need fixing up.Lets do that first...then we can see what happens and what is needed when thats all done.

MOst of the houses abandoned are in not so nice areas of america. These subdivisions will probably be between 200K and up. No one making 6 figures wants to like i nthe ghetto.

I suspect we'll be seeing a lot more of these last minute, desperate attempts to forge ahead with the Bush agenda in the months until the election/inauguration.

The next 5 months are a crucial time for anybody that cares about any aspect of our country. Madmen are running & ruining the America at every opportunity, selling our vital nat'l resource & public land to the highest bidder. I don’t care if it’s legal or not. The U.S. is setting itself up for a crisis in every aspect of our society, leaving no one unharmed by political decisions that will have ramifications for generations to come.
They are not even making an attempt to get a handle on our economy in a prudent-citizen’s interest comes first-manner. WE NEED TO PUSH THE PANIC BUTTON AT THIS POINT! We’re going from bad to worse before even taking into account the war & a trade deficit imbalance that is so precarious that our economy is seems to be teetering on the brink of collapse. We are being taken for a ride & it’s not over yet!

There are so many foreclosed homes & vacant alternatives: apts, condos, etc that I cringe every time I hear more of this insane mortgage & housing mismanagement. Future generations will ultimately suffer the most by being burdened with monumental debt, massive climate change issues (where currently oil is the sole solution) while green initiatives meet constant roadblocks & hurdles. It is truly unbelievable how the current administration keeps making profit motivated decisions to benefit a few at the expense of millions of people. We have so much at stake right now that the shear magnitude makes it incomprehensible. There is no time more crucial than right now for us to minimize the overwhelming danger facing our once great country. Please do your part to try to understand the issues & consequences & act according to the best possible outcome.

this is no surprise. his whole presidency has been about money, and i'm sure he's getting some from this deal. his "evildoing" knows no bounds. it's thing like this that make me wish i believed in god, so i could be safe with the knowledge that he would burn in hell for all the things he's done to this country and to thousands of men and women who no longer have the privledge of being bent over by the the leader of the free world. i will be throwing my new year's part on jan 20th when bush has his last day in office.

Hmmm, I don't think that building residential housing units is preventing fires from happening in virgin forest. I think reading the whole article instead of closing ones mind after finishing the sentence would help that...also, is there any proof of this?
