Do you really want to know why Iran has a nuclear program?

Iran has a nuclear program because their government has done the calculations and realizes that if they are to survive they will need alternate sources of energy. Considering that nuclear power is the least problematic based on certain global warming hypotheses, they are pursuing the only and best choice available to them.
What makes those countries that already have nuclear power think for one second that they have the right to deny others the same privilege? If Iran is denied the right to develop nuclear power then other energy-starved countries will also be denied.
Do we actually believe that we have the right to do this? And even if we think that we do, do we actually believe that people living in countries that have yet to develop nuclear power will refrain from developing the technology just because we say so, especially when they see us enjoying all the benefits that comes with access to almost unlimited energy?

I don't get it. Why DO countries sitting on top of the giant oil deposits of the planet think they need alternative fuel sources???

I was just a kid during that period. But I certainly remember it. And I don't remember anyone in my immediate circle saying: "It's time to change the world..." What I heard instead was Darn That Jimmy Carter.
It was too much to ask them to take a little discomfort for the team. Selfishness wins again.
After Jimmy Carter it seemed like a concerted effort was made to tear down everything he was trying to "build instead of destroy". The choice had been made by the people.
Anyone remember seeing the Kilometer measures on the highway signs back in the 70's? -
You know where there's at least a few billion years worth of energy left at? The sun. Yeah, right!?

It's amazing how prophetic his statements were, looking at our current situation globally.
At least now people are finally starting to take notice. -
if you need nuclear engergy, great. but why are they enriching it? there is not need to enrich uranium. u238 works fine for reactors(because its used to create plutonium). enriched u235 is used in bombs. pretty simple to figure that one out.

I don't think anyone has a problem with them having nuclear power. the problem people have is that they kicked out IAEA and they are enriching uranium past the point of energy needs. If they want to let the IAEA back in everyone will be ok with it like the scores of over counties that have nuclear power but don't have nuclear weapons.

They are being smart nuclear energy and a bomb to protect themselves and level the playing field. If you had all that oil would you trust America or some other people in the neighborhood who have nukes not to try and take it from you. If you can't see what happened to Iraq for having all that oil then open your eyes. Iran has the right to have nuclear power and bombs until the Jews get rid of thiers and the rest of the world follows. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Iran is protecting itself from some very evil powers in America and the Middle east and if I were them I would do the same thing. Fossil fuel will run out sooner or later, then what????

OUR GOVERNMENT WANTS TO CONTROL THE WORLD! I'd rather see us all work hard here at developing clean technologies, non-polluting products and environments, and become totally self-sufficient here in the U.S. PUT OUR TOTAL FOCUS HERE FOR A WHILE!

This post is the result of ignorance:
1. Iran should not be allowed to go ahead with Nuclear power, due to the fact they don't want to allow the EU Nuclear Watchdog into their complex. This would allow them to know the country is no harm.
2. This is the same country that is based on the most Islamic-extremists laws. Part of these, is the fact to kill non believers. (Yes, this is you too)
3. This is the same country that said Israel should be wiped from the map.
4. Same country that promotes the knowledge, "there was no holocaust"
No country with these comments and way of thinking should be allowed to enrich any Uranium. If they mean no harm, they should at least open their doors to the EU Nuclear Watchdog. -
If you'd ever seen Ashura in person you'd know EXACTLY why possibly the most stupid error in human history would be giving a bunch of Shi'ite head cases nuclear capabilities.
