Oh, the irony!"Yeah, I'll be constructive," Bush told a joint news conference after meeting Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda on the eve of the G8 summit in the northern mountain resort of Toyako.
"I also am realistic enough to tell you that if China and India don't share the same aspiration that we're not going to solve the problem," Bush said.
"The US, I believe, has not really lost a sense of direction. I think that our views are gradually converging," Fukuda said.

think about it from india and china's perspective: your country is growing faster than just about any other country, your economy is booming while those of countries like the u.s. are failing. would you agree to cut back on spending, producing, wasting, etc when countries that you're passing up don't want to themselves? to them i imagine it sounds like other countries are just jealous and intimidated. oh, the irony indeed...
