The prototype rocket, known as Ares I-X, is scheduled for launch in spring 2009 before the "retirement" of the space shuttle fleet in 2010.

End in Sight: Final Space Shuttle Missions Slated, great news, the new moon missions will be fun to watch. I'm hoping to see some high definition footage from the moon live or recorded, and if they land on the dark side the view of the starry sky would be breathtaking I'm sure.
