ACLU Investigates Hippie Arrests-Pelleting and Pepper Balling

The federal Forest Service said a mob of about 400 members of the Rainbow Family... threw rocks and sticks at Forest Service officers who tried to arrest a member of the group. The agency would not give a reason for the original arrest.
About 60 federal and local officers responded, Forest Service officials said, and fired pepper balls — pellets that disperse a pepper solution — at the crowd.

More than 100 participants in the annual Rainbow Family of Living Light "Gathering of the Tribes" near Big Sandy made appearances at a temporary federal court at the fire station here this week.Chief U.S. District Judge William Downes signed the unusual order to create the temporary courtroom because the closest federal courtrooms to the gathering are in Green River, Lander and Jackson, he said Thursday.The court will remain as long as Rainbow gathering participants are in the area.
About 40 participants appeared in court Wednesday, and an unknown number appeared Thursday, according to the clerk of federal court in Casper. One defendant on Wednesday apparently got out of hand and was zapped with a Taser.
U.S. marshals brought out a case of bottled water for the defendants lined up at the tent where security personnel conducted searches.
There, too, Rainbows made nice with the government.
One Rainbow asked a marshal how he kept a straight face.

Leave the Rainbow Family alone. They hurt no one, or nothing. When they leave, you can't tell they have been there, except for the goodwill in the air.

john twiss was placed in a power position as chief of law enforcement agencey for nat'l forest. he was not qualified for the job and so they quickly changed the F.S. manual according to PEEP who are public employees for environmental protection and work for the F.s., put out a news letter. google it for august 2005. He's a facist and wants to "ban those people"
since his employ as chief(he regularly attends gatherings and was there this year) the harrasment has increased alot in three years.
the f.s. LEOs insited a riot this year, but it didn't work completely as no sticks or stones were thrown. people were on their knees asking them to stop shooting randomly at the crowd which included children. this happened in kid village, a direct contradiction to the F.S. statement that it happened in main meadow. it's a scam. like saying judy barry blew herself up with a homemade bomb which the nation read and believed untill more than 10 years later it was proven that the FBI did it. so goes the gathering. the same article went out nationwide overnight that the eccentric hippies, who by the way include me, an RN who pays taxes, etc., rioted. what a riot and outrite lie.
why do LEOs come to a peace gathering with automatic weapons filled with chemical bullets?
