Judge sentences man to 5 years in Prison for putting puppies in dumpster!

A man accused of dumping a bagful of puppies in a Riverdale, Utah trash bin has been sentenced to serve up to five years in prison.

Rita Woodward, the woman who found the lone surviving puppy, cried as she urged the judge to give Howard the maximum sentence possible.

Sentences like this that are equal to that of taking human life, cheapens human lives.

Killing puppies is wrong and deserves a punishment, like fines, community service and maybe jail time but 5 years at the big house!!!! No way.

Be careful next time you spray those ants....someone may be watching.

    All I know is that if someone harmed or killed my puppy, they would be lucky if they got 5 years in the slammer. Honestly, it would be a 5 year extension of the scum bags life as far as I am concerned.

    Also, I don't think getting a 5 year sentence for this is equal to a sentence for taking a human life. If someone killed off 13 children, then that person would never get out of prison.

    On a final note I just noticed something from the article. The man is getting 13 years, 1 for each dead puppy, 6 months for the suffering of the single surviving puppy, and the 5 years is for the drug possession charge. The sentences are to run together, so I assume that means the man will be in prison for 13 years.
