HARTFORD, Conn. — Connecticut's attorney general isn't happy that a video game called "Frat Party Games: Beer Pong" was rated suitable for children as young as 13.

The video game is based on a popular college drinking game where competitors toss a pingpong ball into the opposing player's cup. If the ball lands in the cup, the opposing player typically has to guzzle beer.

"Despite being premised on a drinking game, the game's content involves essentially nothing more than tossing pingpong balls into plastic cups," she wrote. "We are thus unsure of the basis for the statement in your letter suggesting that this content 'glorifies alcohol abuse and binge drinking."'

Vance said three "specially trained, adult raters" with no ties to the industry reviewed the game and recommended the "T" rating for people 13 years old and older.

  • Soon I will be able to save money and the environment if I don't have to buy any more of those red cups…oh and I’ll never have to worry about the ball getting lost.

  • This is pretty funny. American drinking culture is almost as stupid as over here in the UK. Do you think the French have 'drinking games' like this?

Also, on a point of information, i'd like to challenge the contention that Coors is actually a beer...

  • why in gods name would anyone who could actually drink not play the real game...with booze.

well at least if you're kid is playing the video beer pong game you know they don't have the social life to be playing/drinking in real life.
  • Anything is a sport like anything is an art.

Therefore nothing is a sport nor is anything art.

    Terrific.

  • With the money you spent on this game, you could have bought 10 twelve packs of Natural Light and played for realz.

  • How is this game any different to that old school game "Tapper", where you have to slide beers down the bar. I don't remember anyone complaining about that game.

  • How does this encourage binge drinking? If the young teens are getting better at strategy and accuracy for playing beer pong, when they're older, the OTHER team would be drinking more.

  • who cares? This seems tame compared to the dildos and bong smokers and lesbians and dead guy forensics they learn about all over tv. I'd much rather my thirteen yr old get caught with a beer than get caught giving a hooker a dirty sanchez. with a needle sticking out of his arm (I learned about that on my trip to mexico......jk, I learned from South park, and I'm proud of it. I said what what in the butt)

If you as a parent are offended by this, (which I respect, being one) then, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, dont let YOUR KID play it.
