Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid explains how the income tax system is voluntary as opposed to involuntary. This is sad and funny at the same time. You'll be enlightened but not in the way Reid would want.

  • We need a value added tax. Tax only consumption, and not income is the only fair way.

    If I'm young and want to buy a house, then I can cut back on consumption. This will do two things, increase my savings, and reduce my taxes.

    When I buy the house, then I will pay the consumption tax, or value added tax.

    This way the taxpayer has more options, and the government eventually gets it taxes.
