Internet flaw could let hackers take over the Web

Apparently, according to this Yahoo article, the entire internet was very nearly exploded. This explodation was neatly circumvented by having Microsoft, Sun and other software companies band together to develop a patch.

The article did not go into much detail on what exactly the potential exploit was but did say that if it had been taken advantage of by hackers they potentially could have redirected traffic across the internet any way they wished.

So for example if you typed in google.com your computer would be redirected by the nogoodnick hackers to the-most-horrible-disgusting-things-ever-in-convenient-streaming-video-form.com

which was created by the person who found the potential exploit and use the DNS checker on the right side to see if your computer is vulnerable. And since the Microsoft patch was the only one that I could easily find (and let's face it there are a freakin' lot of Windows computers out there) here's the link to their patch:
