Nazi doctor "alive in Chile"

Image...
Wow. According to the article, the Simon Wiesenthal center has gotten some credible information that a certain "Dr. Death" is alive and living in Patagonia, Chile. Here's hoping they catch this guy. He sounds like pure evil.

I'll second that KIyash, he does indeed sound like pure evil.

I really hope this is true and he gets arrested. It is bad enough that Mengele got away and it will be interesting to see if he shows any remorse or regret.

He's 94. It's sad but I've got news for you... He got away with it.

Think Dandrews may be right... as sad as that might seem...

  •

It seems a bit too late... Apparently he's 94 and chances are he doesn't even remember his horrendous past.

I agree, there might come a point where it is too late for justice, but in saying that, I am sure it would mean a lot to many people if he was put to trial and held responsible for his actions after all.

Do we prosecute and spend thousands of dollars/euros
just to set an example? Is justice a moot point?

What they should do is take all the money away he earned as a Nazi and donate it to an anti-defamation league... I mean what's the point of putting some 94-year-old freak behind bars?

I hope they find him, but at 94, what are they going to do?

  •

He should probably change his name. 'Dr Death' tends to stick out in the Patagonian phone book.

this ain't surprising. alot of those nazis have been found down in south america hiding out.

while they're down there, they should keep an eye out for Ken Lay.

Sure the guy's a sick freak, but what's the point of arresting him now? He could die any time. It would have been huge if they could have found him a lot sooner. Anyone would want justice. I think he should have been tortured like he did his victims, but now, as I said, it would be absolutely pointless. He will eventually get what's coming to him. God has ways of taking care of things, even if the guy is already dead and gone.

What a monstrous creature. If he's in any fit health he should be put to fair trial. If he's dying anyway, I'd say let nature take it's course.

He was held for 2 years after WW2 and then released without being tried... and then disappeared. I wonder how thorough the search was...

"After the war, Heim was detained by US forces, but later disappeared." --- sounds fishy

Many Nazi war criminals fled to Latin America.

This reminds me of Klaus Barbie, one of the most infamous war criminals from WWII. Check out the wikipedia link for more information.

Barbie was very active in Latin America, helping topple governments and then replacing them with military dictatorships that allowed corporate fascism to corrupt the continent.

This was often conducted with silent or direct support for US government officials and corporate leaders.

The shadow that these evil people have cast upon humanity and the environment is incalculable.

i wonder how much US tax money has been spent hiding this guy. probably as a favor to von braun...

considering the staggering number of people he has tortured, and how he has, their isn't any reimbursement. its not like if we kill him or torture him someone is going to sleep better that night. i guess the worst we can do is make him watch as people torture his daughter, but she hasn't done anything to deserve such treatment. the best we can do is prevent things like this from happening.

all of one's time left on earth matters. more importantly, the message that arrest sends is that no matter how long and far one has come since the crimes (esp this type) were committed they still can't hide forever and can NEVER have peace
