Cameron tells poor they have only themselves to blame

David Cameron declared yesterday that some people who are poor, fat or addicted to alcohol or drugs have only themselves to blame.

He said that society had been too sensitive in failing to judge the behaviour of others as good or bad, right or wrong, and that it was time for him to speak out against “moral neutrality”.

"It's as if these things - obesity, alcohol abuse, drug addiction - are purely external events, like a plague or bad weather. Social problems are often the consequence of the choices that people make." said Cameron

Labour MP Stephen Pound described Cameron as a "posh tourist, dropping in and out". Cameron was also accused of hypocrisy after talking tough on knife crime yesterday.

  • David Cameron is pretending to be something he's not. He is clearly just a posh boy who has no idea about reality for most people in the UK. When the time comes please don't vote him in! Love the pic of him by the way!

  • At the risk of upsetting people I have to agree with some of what he is saying. I have no problem with those in need receiving benefits or support from the state to improve their lives. However, every person has a responsibility to improve their surroundings and their life and too often people choose the path of least resistance. I believe that social problems are often the consequence of choices.

  • It is really pathetic when politicians stop taking responsibility for serious social problems and put the blame on individuals instead of doing their job ...

  • The stupid sod. At the same time, which I actually agred with (while not liking the conservitves still) that we are suffering through tax and are being robbed and held down by the Labour Government, that the super rich should be taxed most to save for our basics and talk on Itv and BBC a few months ago saying that we can't afford any of the fuel or much else because of food prices riseing. What's he saying it's thier fault for? I'm discusted, bog off Cameron, NOW I'd EVEN rather vote Nick Clegg out of the lot of you top 3 parties. And I'm more into the Scottish Union and leaving here as I really hate you three.

  • Also, fat and those who take drugs? For fecks sake, I don't even take them and I'm not 'fat' either, but still I know it's a depressing in this so called civilzed society, where all the meaning of it is so that politicins can suckup and nickour money, nothing more do these bs's want.

  • It's easy for Cameron to say this.

His personal wealth before he got married was around £10 million and isn't his wife alone worth something like £30 million because of her familes background.

If you come from a poor family, then you can't get a good education like Oxford or even the basic of uni's. And because of that, you can't get a high paying job, so you end up poor. And then your children do and so on....

This seems like something the BNP would say

  • You cannot call yourself really poor if you can afford to drink yourself to stupor or get so stoned that you forget where your arsehole is.

Yes we have a problem in this country where there are people who really are poor, and survive from day to day as if they are living in a third world country. However, we also have people who are poor because they do not want to work; the immigrants came to take your jobs, but the jobs were there before they came, it just you didn't feel like doing them.
