This discovery could suggest that the moon was formed at or around the same time as earth. The collision theory is good but this opens up many new possibilities.

THis is an interesting concept however I beleive as well as many others that the moon was formed from the earth. Pockets of H20 may be contained in ice shields due to asteroids but this is unlikley diue to the high tempratures of the atmosphere of space.
