Congress using FISA to spy on Bush

Unnamed sources from the DNC confirm that congress is using measures made available by the USA Patriot act, in an ongoing investigation of the White House, Attorney Generals office, and the office of the Vice President.

The passage of the FISA bill was reportedly an effort by the democrats, to preserve what has been described as "mountains of incriminating evidence" gathered so far with FISA measures.

"We need FISA to get Bush" said one source who refused to be named publically.

  • Never thought of it this way. Would be wonderful if this is true. By the way, where's your source? The link is only to the image you posted.

  • Good! I'm glad to see them finally get a taste of their own medicine.

  • Hysterical!

    Excellent use for it.

  • My guess is that's probably why Obama voted yes for it (previous article). It makes sense if you put it in that context. For a moment there from the other article about FISA, I believed that Obama had sold out.

  • No link? No story? What, did Howard Dean put out this story to cover for his selected candidate's vote to shred the fourth amendment?
If you believe this story, send me an e-mail, I've got some good deals on some bridges I can let you on to.

  • Exactly John A. This is bullshit. Congress shouldn’t need FISA to take down the president.

  • Time will tell. Put Bushie and Cheeneey and the rest in prison for life. Clinton did not back it Obama did. They must need it to get Bushie. I hope they get him soon.

  • Congress has this little thing called "supoena power". FISA is useless to them, they can investigate anything they want, anywhere they want, anytime they want, now. They don't need FISA.

Which just further illustrates what pussies the Democrats in congress are.

  • It goes to show you that there isn't hardly anyone who really cares about what Bush is doing; not just Democrats.

  • Hilarious!

  • I agree with John A.

This is nothing more than those spineless so called democrats trying to cover their collective asses for turning their backs on the American People.TO THE STREETS!!!
  • that's ridiculous! w. is a flamboyant war criminal & all of the administration's crimes have almost all been public.

don't trade your freedom for the illusion of security. if you do you don't deserve either.
  • I hope W and his whole administration get aids in prison and die a slow and painful death, also a taste of their own torture methods would be appropriate...
  • This would be a taste of the Bush Administration's own medicine. In the best of worlds, they would use FISA and the Patriot Act to nab these terrorists and then vote them out of use.

  • This post seems to be about...
    A) Kneejerk...Jumping to conclusions based on unconfirmed and scant information.
    B) Hypocracy...It's all good as long as it's GWB being spyed upon.
    C) Sarcasm..."Onion Style".
    Anything else, chiselbat?

  • I wonder what other people in other countries think of this? They must think "why do those stupid Americans let their politicians do that to them?" And why do we? "Mountains of evidence"? If you have mountains of evidence then go get the bastards, is mountains of evidence not enough? What do they need... oceans of evidence? Or perhaps planets of evidence? Our legal system must really be fubar.

Its like the Clinton impeachment, what did that acomplish? Nothing. If they are going to try and impeach Bush then lets just give up now, it will take months or years to get it done and he'll be well out of office. Playing "tag, your it" would be more effective then an impeachment. I would much rather see criminal charges levied against him.

  • AHAHAHAHAHA! Maybe that's why Dems want this bill?
  • The irony here is almost epic.

Using the Bush administration's own Patriot act to gather evidence against them for prosecution? :)

    From Wikipedia

The USA PATRIOT Act, commonly known as the 'Patriot' act, is an Act of Congress that United States President George W. Bush signed into law on October 26, 2001. The acronym stands for "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001" (Public Law Pub.L. 107-56).

  • Very funny!
  • Where are the negative Obama articles? Why is there a leaning for one side against another? Agenda?

As far as this goes I would think anyone that was against the Government looking and peering in on their lives would be against it being used against anyone no matter who, not being eye for eye-ish. Which makes their stance weak and feeble.

  • This is nonsense. Where is the article? What evidence is there for this?
    claybird121
  • Joke.
  • Could we get an actual link to an actual article with actual data on this? The link is just to a picture (which, although a republican, Smith is my senator too), and so we're forced to comment on either the caption or someone else's comments. A little too 'circle-jerk' for my taste, thanks...
