A Christian registrar who refused to conduct gay weddings because she believes they are "sinful" has won her case, the Telegraph reports.
So religious autonomy has been prioritised over LGBT rights? Interesting...
I don't really understand why my fellow gaylords and lady gardeners would actually *want* to get married and join an institution that actively rejects them, but ho hum...
The question really is, what should take precedence: the right to be a Christian, the right to be gay, the right to be a gay Christian, the right to be a married gay Christian, the right to be a gay Chrstian married by an un-gay Christian, or... Um, it's all getting a bit complicated. What do you think?

I dont understand who un-christian, christians are. The main rule Jesus CHRIST taught was to love thy neighbour as thyself. He also said about no violence and things like that but like most humans, christians skip the boring bits :/
surely getting married is a symbol of showing your love for one another, if people want to do that its up to them. The fact its her job to marry people means her judgement shouldnt really come into it. Theres plenty of straight people that marry for the novelty, even if they dont love each other. Surely thats worse than 2 people that love each other??
I dont understand some people, they shouldnt call themselves human, nevermind abusing the word Christian. -
This is ridiculous - if she does not want to do her job, why does she not get fired?

This is a travesty; if she refused to marry someone beacuse they were asian she'd get the book thrown at her. The world is actually crazy.

true dat janapokana... but she should be allowed to not conduct them b/c of her relegious views... what i dont seem to get is why gays/lesbos want a traditional marriage... after being rejected by practically every relegion.. id just say screw you ... im getting married in the air.... or something...

Good for her, it's about time someone finds safe harbor from having to be an active participant in homo-indoctrination. Hopefully teachers will soon have the right to not push gay agendas in public schools as well. Time people figure it out, you can make your "life choice" but not everyone should have to get on board with it and lend support if they do not approve.

Being gay is not a choice: Think about it, if you knew you were going to be persecuted by the majority, would you choose to be gay? (Hypothetically).
Or maybe they just want to annoy people! -
If your morals get in the way of doing your job then why don't these people recuse themselves from the position as what happens in the judicial system. There is nothing stopping them from finding a new job closer to their comfort zones so they can stop pressing their beliefs on other people.

Personally, i think getting married is more of a legal term or such things as insurance, social security, custody of children, etc. But that's just me. :)

It seems unreal to me that a woman in 2008 is basing her decisions from a religion that is nearly 2000 years old and a book that is over 3000 years old. She shouldn't judge who marries who she should just do her job.
