On Wednesday, June 25, 2008, during a live broadcast of a wedding reception on The Today Show, Kathy Lee Gifford gratuitously referred to pagans as "nasty, bad Pagans." Ms Gifford's hate speech has done harm to American pagans' ability to live in peace with our neighbors of other faiths. By allowing her hate speech to be broadcast, her direct employer The Today Show, and their network, NBC, participate in that hate speech.
This is a petition calling for, at the very least, an on-air apology. A Today Show program devoted to dispelling misconceptions about pagans and paganism would go a long way toward undoing the damage.
Signers of this petition are also putting the sponsor of that Today Show segment, Samsung, on notice that we are conducting a boycott against them until such time as we receive justice.

That's funny,... sometimes people watch Kathy Lee, or hear about her friggin' son Cody, and say "There is no god!"
How dare she! That bad, nasty Gifford. -
i love when people get in an uproar over nothing. get over it. klg isn't even a hasbeen but a never was, why do people care what she says?
-
Who cares, she's a mega-douche anyway...
If we worried about what every idiot said, we'd probably explode or something. -
She isn't really wrong......she isnt talking about neo pagans....she was referring to the original pagans, and historically speaking they were savage, ruthless hunters and warriors that enacted in gratuitous human sacrifice.

dkvt332 is right.....

dkvt332, not all pagans were as you describe. are all christians violent because some engaged in the crusades? most pagans did not engage in human sacrifice, that was usually left to the priests. just because you don't understand why they did what they did doesn't mean it was nasty or bad. Christians are supposedly to be willing to be martyrs for their faith if called by god, yes?
If I lived back then I don't think i'd mind being a Year king (or queen I suppose).-

If she would have said bad nasty Jews or bad nasty Muslims this would be the headline on every news station.

KLG could pay lip service and "apologize." But what would that accomplish?
No one cares about pagans. All those christians out there KNOW that pagans are bad. -
The original pagans weren't savages. By saying that, you are calling all Native Americans savages and they were more civil than those nordic assholes who came down to OUR LAND and RAPED IT and killed our people off because they desired what we had. They're the fucking savages.
Sorry, that angry Carib/Taino Indian in me took over. And Kathy Lee is about as funny as a bag of dogshit with Carrot Top in there somewhere.
