Recently, while in Santa Monica, CA I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Los Angeles kindergarten teacher Aquarelle Emery about her experience and motivation to participate in the 'Longest Walk 2008" - checkout what she has to say.
Aquarelle, participants and organizers of the 'Longest Walk' illustrate the immense ground swell of interest, involvement - activism of the American people in the political process and this years Presidential election.
A week or so after I met Aquarelle, she returned to the 'Longest Walk' and should be in Washington D.C. now.
PS - Aquarelle is not only an Obama supporter, but has a tremendous voice. At the end of the vid Aquarelle gives us a little teaser of her incredible voice.
Comments on my vid are welcome.

BRAVA!!!! -
Very interesting video. I'm interested to know how she walked for ten weeks straight. I always wanted to do something like that.

Aquarelle Emery is a pearl of hope in our population of complacency.
Thank you current for giving her a voice. -
Talk the talk while walking the walk.
And, perhaps, toss in a little shouting and singing.
Whatever it takes. Right? -
Thank you VoyagerFilms....the camera is so much stronger than any weapon could ever be......I wish my kindergarten teacher had had her spirit....there were times when we had to hold a mirror under her nose.......when people came to this country....there were so many beautiful things going on....a group of people that were in touch with nature.....because of greed and selfishness.....the destruction of these people was embraced by many.....in many ways it continues in America today.....in many more ways all over the world....it is sad that we are going the wrong direction so fast.....getting farther from home every day....Aquarelle gives me hope and I know she is the product of Love and Kindness somewhere in her past........Golden Ruler......Johnnie Hargrave...........

Bren589.......you have a great spirit.....have watched your comments.....always very positive.....for those in this country who are not able to walk due to many different reasons.....more videos of great movements like this documenting feelings should be done....people in nursing homes and those that have been crippled by life should get to see more of the real world.....waliking is a blessing...life is also....we all have just so many steps.....don't waste yours.........Golden Ruler......Will........

Aquarelle is very mature for her age, very well informed and very inspiring...it is easy to see that she speaks from her heart... oh that the world were full of Aquarelles...
Thanks for this post, Voyager...-

I truly admire her (peyote-inspired?) intrepidity as do the rest of you, however, please do pardon my pessimism if I am a bit suspecting of her apparent youth.
the courage or ardent desire to change is wonderful (definitely easier) in first embrace when you haven't met many/any deeper disappoints that give most/many people pause, humility and perhaps careful sobriety in knowing that even clamorous courage and sheer zealousness do not guarantee success; and this no matter how bad one may want it or believe it justified or necessary in every fiber of the soul and spirit.
But I am glad that some do hope to believe in better things...even if it's in some naivete of youth... =) her spirit is quite admirable in any case
thanks =)
