Sweet, better than spending $99 for that damn Roku thang.

You could just hook your P.C. up to your T.V.

I'll admit it, being the huge nerd that I am, I jumped off my couch and clapped when I was watching the press conference this morning as this was announced. It had been rumored for so long, and to finally have official confirmation from Microsoft, plus that sweet price tag of FREE (if you already subscribe to Netflix that is) was too much for my nerdy Dorrito infused brain to handle.
Plus the announcement of the 'Portal' spin off, the 'Gears of War 2' footage, and the game where you make your own B-movies were just icing on a great tasting cake. Not to mention the 1 - 2 punch Microsoft delivered to Sony by having the next Final Fantasy game arriving on both consoles on the same day.
Day one is only halfway over and so far it's been a pretty amazing e3.-

Sounds interesting. But I'm a little afraid of a world in which David partners with Goliath; I hope Microsoft doesn't manage to buy-out or corrupt Netflix.

I've been thinking of getting an XBox and this news has me almost convinced.

I think the coolest part of this entire announcement is the ability to watch movies with your friends via Xbox Live. So even if you aren't in the same house together, you can still watch the same movie at the same time and enjoy a massive movie night with people around the world.

Too bad you also have to pay for the Gold membership as well as the Netfilx membership - its not exactly free. Would be worthwhile for anyone already with the Xbox live gold membership to grab a netflix account.

just got done watching the e3 thing on g4....i wonder what ps3 and the wii are gonna show....right now x box is kicking ass...i jus sold my ps3....and iam thinking about getting a xbox.....we shalll see what happens

I've got my Xbox running as my media centre, hooked up to my PC running my films and stuff direct to my TV. It rocks, but is a pain in the arse sometimes. This Neflix malarky sounds pretty impressive. Shame I live in the UK...

Remember everyone, this is only a feature for those with a GOLD subscription to Xbox Live. I.E you need to pay for both Netflix and Xbox Live in order to do this.
Awesome nonetheless. -
RIP Video rental.
