2012 gets a Woody

The set of Roland Emmerich's 2012 just got a little hemp-ier. Woody Harrelson has just joined the cast, portraying a crackpot who might be on to the end of the world as we know it. The disaster film, due out next summer, has been racking up a pretty decent roster of actors, with John Cusack, Danny Glover, Amanda Peet, Thandie Newton and Chiwetel Ejiofor already on board.

“I play a guy who’s been talking for a long time, the whole world thinks he’s crazy,” Harrelson said of his character. “But he’s been talking that there’s gonna be hell to pay for what’s been going on ecologically and everything.”

  • Woody is a great activist as well as actor. Can't wait for the movie. Maybe the Aztec calender was right.

  • Ditto, I like Woody and appreciate his voice. We need more voices willing to be heard on issues of importance. Many people have remained silent while knowing the truth. Woody was willing to speak up. Kudos!

  • The world will end when it is least expected. It is so egotistical of us as humans to think that we can predict these kinds of things.

    I like Woody, too. He's a really cool and dignified guy. I got to meet him once briefly at a convention. He's buff as hell.
