One person has died after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the eastern Greek islands today, the USGS has reported: A 56-year-old woman died of head injuries after slipping in an attempt to get out of her house during the quake.
Authorities had previously been concerned that a further, more powerful earthquake would strike, but several hours after the initial quake there has been no further major activity, suggesting that the danger has passed.

I am in Cairo, Egypt for a part of the summer and the quake woke me up this morning... I haven't seen it reported anywhere else that it was felt this far out. Clothes hangers were hitting the walls and the chandelier was rattling around as well... Just gracing current.com with some insider info that no other outlets have...
