An off-duty New York City police detective involved in a shooting has failed a sobriety test.
City officials say the shooting appears to be justified because the detective faced a threat of serious injury or death. The detective has been placed on modified duty.
The city last summer began requiring alcohol tests of all officers involved in woundings or deaths. This is the first failed test in such a case
Do you think NY state should tighten its gun regulations for police officers?
