This story is so utterly disgusting I am sick to my stomach.... no matter what your politics are, how can this evil man be in any way treated like a hero by heads of state. This is the type of evil that fueled the nazis...
In case you don't know, Samir Kuntar, in a terrorist raid into Israel, broke into a family home, took the father and his 4 year old daughter at gunpoint down to the water's edge and then proceeded to execute the father with a point blank shotgun blast to the head in front of the man's 4 year old girl. He then proceeded to crush the girls skull against a rock using the butt of his shotgun.
And this is how they celebrate at his return home....

In Kuntar's home in Abey, streets were decorated with banners welcoming the return of the former member of the radical Palestine Liberation Front. "Samir Kuntar is the conscience of Lebanon, Palestine and the Arab nation. Abey welcomes the hero, prisoner Samir Kuntar," reads one sign.

It is ok determine objectively that Samir Kuntar is a disgusting scumbag murdering embodiment of evil. That is a fact, it remains true everywhere, independent of human thought or feeling. Unless you are so PC and removed from reality. -

In 1979, Kuntar and three other gunmen made their way in a rubber dinghy from Lebanon to Nahariya, where, in a hail of gunfire and exploding grenades, they killed a policeman who stumbled upon them, then burst into the apartment of Danny Haran, herding him and his 4-year-old daughter out of the house at gunpoint to the beach below, where they were killed.
The attack is seared in Israel's collective consciousness as being especially gruesome because an Israeli court found that Kantar shot Danny Haran in front of his child, and then killed her by hitting her head with his rifle butt.
Haran's wife, Smadar, who had fled into a crawl space in the family apartment with her 2-year-old daughter, accidentally smothered the child with her hand while trying to stifle her cries.
Sounds like a real nice guy....
