I am beginning to wonder if Monsanto thugs are deliberately contaminating organic fields to file lawsuits to extort money from unsuspecting farmers. This seems to be happening more and more. All I know is, Monsanto is not in business out of a love for the environment or agriculture. They have taken all that is good, natural, beautiful and noble about agriculture and destroyed it for profit. That is why we as consumers must have disclosures on what we buy as to what the source of the food is so that we can decide what we wish to put in our bodies: natural food, or fake food made by murderers.

Yes Jan, you are right, the awareness will (I hope) eventually lead to action.
Here is a quote from one of the articles that you just linked above:
"Monsanto enjoyed a lucrative four-decade monopoly on PCB production in the United States, and battled to protect that monopoly long after PCBs were confirmed as a global pollutant. "We can't afford to lose one dollar of business," one internal memo concluded."
I couldn't help putting that quote here, doesn't that just say it all? -
Yes it sure does. And they are doing the same regarding GMOs and privitizing water as they did with PCBs and Agent Orange: contaminating our planet and deceiving consumers. That is immoral enough, but to see them gleefully going after farmers to sue them and take their livelihoods that they think they have the right to "patent" just shows me how evil they really are.

I agree, they have no conscious, and I must say, when I read [some] peoples comments where they will say, they "want to eat GMO products", it reaches inside my gut and hurts. I just don't understand how people can be so blind.
Is the ability to feel compassion for our fellow man become so lost, that [some] people in our country refuse to see the total injustice of all this?
I cannot wrap my brain around such peoples narrow thinking. -
An entire page of articles about GMOs, Roundup Pesticide, and Monsanto. Forewarned is forearmed.
And queenofit, I am very disappointed in the response of some to this. This should outrage any moral being to their core.-

I am EXTREMELY sensitive this "Roundup Pesticide". I have had some serious reactions to it, but at the time did not know it was being sprayed near where I was living. It was only afterward that the folks who sprayed the area told me they had been using this poison. I avoid it the best I know how, but sometimes it isn't easy.
I really wonder if the inability to understand the full implications of all of this poison is actually one of the symptoms of consuming this stuff?
I wouldn't doubt it..... -
CLOSE MONSANTO. It's so creepy how they are trying to CONTROL FOOD. I think it's under direct orders from the US Gov. to do so...

Monsanto is another good example of .what is wrong with global corporations that exist on Greed and will do anything to achieve thier goal of profit at any cost to anyone. Somehow this type of credo of Profit at any cost has got to be stopped and peoples health and well being put before profit. This is also happening in Canada and there are cases there of farmers suing Monsanto, there is a major problem and a major resistence movement in India against GMO's where Monsanto is trying to make farmers pay for each and every seed. The resistence is growing and making headway from what I ubderstand.
-
onechance: It makes one wonder why every single time something about it is posted here regardless of who posts it, there is basically the same voting percentages and it falls into the abyss. From what I was reading on a discussion page for a wiki on them, Monsanto employees apparently also made "anonymous" deletions and changes to that wiki page. It isn't then surprising that there might be some "sympathizers" on the web scouring sites to keep information down.
-
Robroy1: I haven't read of one farmer who claims to want this. It goes against nature, and the resistance to it is getting bigger which is good to see.

Of course they do Jan. They are a multi-billion dollar corp... their image (or the stifling of it) is most important, (second only to their profit margin I'm sure...)
-
Well, we can at least take heart in that farmers, farming organizations, consumers, healthcare professionals, and many others all over the world are standing up in opposition to their deceptive and manipulative practices that have harmed our planet. Those of us who love her and our families will not be taken in. And that is good news out of all of this.

Janfor-
google the video clip "nutricide".
Some interesting information about doing stupid and harmful things... on purpose, to people.
Cheers! :)
description from 40min video Nutricide...
"The Codex Alimentarius is a threat to the freedom of people to choose natural healing and alternative medicine and nutrition. Ratified by the World Health Organization, and going into Law in the United States in 2009, the threat to health freedom has never been greater. This is the first part of a series of talks by Dr. Rima Laibow MD, available on DVD from the Natural Solutions Foundation, an non-profit organization dedicated to educating people about how to stop Codex Alimentarius from taking away our right to freely choose nutritional health"
