Recently it came to light that a 2 year old girl had possibly been missing for five weeks when the grandparents of the little girl called police asking them to investigate.

When the police spoke with the little girls mother, she claimed that she had been doing her 'own research', due to movies and reports that the people who in similar cases had gone to police were hurt.
She apparently lied during her interrogation, as well as falsely claimed that her daughter was with a baby sitter who had not lived in the residence the mother described for over 5 months and when contacted claimed she'd never watched the girl.

Police are continuing the investigation and are searching for the little girl, while the mother is in custody in relation to the case.

Unfortunately in so many cases like this they don't find the child alive. I hope they do. Why is her mother lying to authorities? I hope she hasn't done anything to harm her child.

Every neighborhood lined with homes, every apartment complex with hundreds of units....there is life going on, with different people in different moments...and within all of that is a bunch of crazy shit going on that nobody ever sees...its kinda nuts when you really think about it from the safety of your chair or sofa in from of your computer of television right now...

this is just not right. what was she thinking? if she really had no involvement in her daughters disappearance then she definitely helped by not calling for help. Maybe her daughter couldv been found...but with all the lies she's pouring out theres no surprise when shes found guilty...whats wrong with people sometimes?

This is really terrible that this little girl gets missing. I hope she is found safe and put in her grandparent's custody.

However, I sense this will become a Law and Order SVU episode in the near future.

By "doing her own research", I will assume that is code for "I've been doing an awful lot of crystal meth lately and I seriously couldn't tell you which rusted-out car in our backyard I buried her under."

Just pitiful. No parent in their right mind lets their child go missing for five hours, let alone five weeks. Of COURSE she knows where her little girl is. No-brainer of the century.

There is just too much mystery surrounding this story. The missing girl and her mother lived with her grandparents up until June 9, the day the mother told investigators the child was dropped off at a babysitter. HELLO!!!! If my granddaughter had lived with me and then 1 DAY had gone by where I didn't see her or know where she was and my daughter didn't know either, the police would be involved immediately. 5 weeks went by. How could such loving grandparents allow 5 weeks to go by where they were in touch with their daughter but not their granddaughter??
    This is just too strange...

This world bleeds love like it's a lost cause. And you know who suffers? The children. They were brought into this world by people who lacked the full capacity to give enough love and compassion to their child let alone give it a warm home that secure with rules and care. And there's actual wonder as to why there are wars and hate and lack of care?

Children are our future and if they can't be loved by their own parent they'll think they can't be loved at all and that breeds citizens from hell. We all suffer and yet apathy holds people so strongly they don't bother caring about what goes on next door or across the street as much as they use to (excluding the nosy).

My heart goes out for that little girl.

I live in Orlando and on the radio this morning, the news said that the police have reported that a neighbor told them the mother asked to borrow a shovel on the day the girl went missing. Now the police are digging up the grandparents backyard.

thats horrible, and obviously the mom knows what happened or she would have gone to authorities waaaaaayyyyyyy sooner.

I propose that we, the citizens of this great country, require there to be a test before someone is allowed to give birth. I know that this sounds harsh, or Authoritarian, but I see and have seen with my own eyes the shear distruction of entire lives by some "parent" who only worry about themselves and neglect their greatest responsibility of raising a child. I believe that a person needs to be mentalily competent, financially secure, and emotionally available.
Otherwise we get children having babies. Does that make sense to you?
